Launching FitAI — The Smart AI Fitness Trainer

Hey Indie Hackers!
I just launched FitAI, an AI-powered fitness trainer that automatically counts your reps, logs progress, and analyzes your workouts — no wearables needed.

It’s built with Streamlit + Python + OpenCV + AI pose detection and aims to make personal fitness tracking accessible to everyone.

Would love your feedback or collaboration ideas 💪

Great work! The interface looks super clean.
Curious — how do you handle real-time feedback during workouts? Are you using pose estimation models or a simpler rep-counting approach?
Love seeing AI being applied to fitness in such a practical way :)

      Thanks a lot! 😊

Right now, FitAI uses a lightweight rep-counting approach powered by motion tracking from the device camera keeps it fast and device-friendly.

We’re also experimenting with pose estimation (YOLO + Mediapipe) for real-time form correction in the next update 👀💪

Would love to know — are you working on any AI fitness tools too?

Your work on FitAI is truly impressive, your technical approach is extremely advanced! 💪

For my part, I recently developed a small personal fitness tracking app (“Smartlift”) that is much more basic than yours. You select the type of session and the date, and the app automatically generates sets/exercises, allows you to record your perceived exertion, and keeps a history of your workouts. I used Google AI Studio and Airtable as the backend, and everything is mobile-first and free of charge.

I'm also working on another AI-based project: a Gumroad solution for real estate agents who need to create property listings, which uses Gemini 2.5 Pro to automatically generate optimized real estate listings.

Congratulations again on FitAI. I look forward to seeing how your solution evolves and would be delighted to discuss the technical aspects with you!

Brilliant execution, I really love that you removed the need for wearable; it's a real UX breakthrough. curious though, how are you planning to position this in the market? There's a huge SEO and funnel potential around ' AI fitness without wearable'

      Thank you! 💪

That’s exactly the differentiator — no wearables, just AI + camera.

We’re framing it around “AI fitness for everyone, no hardware barrier.”

SEO is part of our growth stack — we’re currently testing “AI fitness without wearables” and “smart camera trainer” as key discovery keywords.

Appreciate you spotting that — are you in the AI health/fitness space too?

Why so weird link? Scared to click 😅

    1. 1

Haha 😂 fair call - it’s our official FitAI launch link, not a fitness scam (unless you count burning calories too fast 🔥).

I really like what you’ve built — great work!
I’ve also created a product called TWT Community, which helps people quickly build their own communities.
Maybe there’s a chance for us to collaborate sometime?

    1. 1

      Thanks! 🙌

TWT Community sounds great — let’s connect, could be some cool synergy there 👀

I would suggest you focus on why should someone build a community. if they can see why they need a community, they will likely patronize you

      1. 1

        That’s a great point — totally agree!

We’ve been thinking the same — focusing more on why community matters rather than how to build it can really shift the message.

Appreciate the feedback 🙏 definitely something we’ll refine in our next updates.
