Hey IH 👋
I’ve been building Music FX – an AI text-to-music generator for people like us who ship products, videos, and demos but aren’t music producers.
Every time I made a demo or landing page video, I ran into the same problems:
Stock music sounded generic or overused
“Free” tracks were a legal grey area
Opening a full DAW just to get simple background music killed momentum
So the idea for Music FX is very simple:
Type what you need → get a royalty-free track in seconds → drop it into your editor and keep shipping.
Turn text prompts into full tracks (e.g. “chill lofi for coding stream”, “epic intro for SaaS launch video”)
Export MP3/WAV that work in Premiere, CapCut, OBS, etc.
Include clear commercial usage rights on paid plans so you don’t have to decode licenses
I’m aiming at indie hackers, solo founders, YouTubers, and small teams who need music often but don’t want to hire a composer or spend hours in a DAW.
v1 is live at https://musicfx.net/
Basic text-to-music + simple controls for mood / style / length
Credit-based pricing with a free tier so you can test it
If you have 2–3 minutes to try it, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on:
Does the core value prop make sense for you as an indie maker?
Are the controls (prompt + mood/length) enough, or what would you add/remove?
How would you expect pricing to work if you used this weekly for your content?
Feel free to drop any ideas, harsh criticism, or use cases in the comments.
If you already have a product video / ad / course that needs music, share the context and I’ll try generating a few tracks for you. 🎵
