Launching my first SaaS as a self taught developer

Before I first launch Optiwing, I had no coding experience beyond an intro to computer programming in java university course, 6 months later I launched the beta of my first SaaS project in 2023. First learning web development with React, then putting my Javascript knowledge to the test learning backend development with Node.js, to finally putting it all together using Next.js as my weapon of choice.

I made Optiwing,

Optiwing is a PAYG SEO platform, that helps users groups keywords into topical clusters that can be targeted with a single article or webpage. It enables SEOs and agencies to automate keyword research and adopt more advanced SEO techniques without investing more SEO professionals time. I use live Google SERP data to create topical connection maps so users can target multiple keywords with a single article or webpage, and offer AI powered content briefing so you know what keywords to use, pages to create, and how to relate them. It supports keyword exports from Ahrefs, SEMrush, and custom file uploads.

To put it simply, users discovers keywords using our keyword discovery tool, or uploads a keyword file from Ahrefs or SEMrush, or Google Keyword Planner, and it will run each keyword through a Google SERP scraper, take the top ten results, and compare them to every other keywords results. If keywords share multiple top ranking pages in common, they are clustered together. One way this can be used is to make articles targeting the primary keyword (highest volume) and using the variations within the article in subheadings and the body. Or to use variations of keywords to support a pillar article.

My plan for now is to grow the number of users and let user feedback guide future features.
