Launching Nira - first prototype of 'starting small' series!
A few weeks back, I posted an article about starting small again. I was demotivated because of a humongous project that I started earlier. Due to the scope of the project, months passed without getting to the finish line.
And so, I decided to restart by building small tools that are usable by public within a few weeks time. The first of such small tools is Nira - an web app to recolor svg files.
A lot of svg illustrations are available online with minor customization options provided. I sometimes want to use these vector files with a particular color scheme. This is possible only if I upload to an svg editor program and change the color of each element manually. Felt there should be a quick solution.
Nira ( https://nira-app.com/ ) helps with this by not only allowing quick color changes to elements but also suggesting color schemes that are pleasing to the eye based on the contrast ratio of the elements.
The objective was to get the app up and running in few weeks. Started the work on July 14! I'm glad that I was able to get an end to end usable product in 3 weeks time!

On mobile, your site is pretty malformed. I don’t think mobile is your target environment since people aren’t going to be uploading files from their phone, but it’s still worth getting it so the site looks decent on mobile.
Oh yeah! thats a good idea Justin. Mobile isn't the target user env. But definitley don't wanna shoo away ppl who check the site for the first time using their mobile device!
