Launching on PH soon. Any tips?

I'd say:

• Use a really subtle gif in the thumbnail. But nothing crazy.
• Respond to every comment.
• When you've launched it, send that link to people in an email. "hey, I published on PH, can I have a vote please".

It's worth searching on IH for 'product hunt launch'. There are lots of real life stories and tips that have been shared.

I'm not sure of your WHY for launching on PH. Ours was to memorialize the collaboration of four people who met over twitter and manifested an idea in about a week. So we were not looking to be in the top five list.

The best advice I can give is:

• Use Preview Hunt to generate your assets.
• Use screely.com for your mockups. Gives it a nice touch.
• Speak more to your why in the first comment section. Weave a narrative.
• When you promote on social media, do not ask for Upvotes. Instead ask for feedback when you include the PH link.
• Respond to every single comment on PH. Even share some of the comments on social media. PH helps you do that.
• Have someone you know hunt you. It matters less that they have 100 or 10000 followers. People with whom you have some sort of relationship will give you the best social proof for a launch.
• Enjoy the process, not the results.
