Hey IH!
Some of you have seen my Time0 posts ranking #11-12 here lately. In two days I'm finally launching on Product Hunt.
The irony: I built such a privacy-focused time planning app that I literally don't know who my users are.
- First customer from Australia? Can't thank them
- Users having issues? They have to find me
- Launch day support? Can't rally my own users
- Zero emails collected = zero marketing list
I chose maximum privacy over growth hacks. Now I'm launching with absolutely no network to notify.
What's wild: someone from HERE likely submitted Time0 to HuntScreens (wasn't me!), where it got featured with better copy than I could write. The IH → HuntScreens pipeline is real. Thank you, anonymous supporter!
If you've been following the journey or believe solo developers building privacy-first products deserve a chance, would appreciate an upvote: https://www.producthunt.com/products/time0
Let's see if product quality + zero surveillance can still work in 2025.
Stats after 1 week:
- 23 website visitors from 7 countries
- 1 paying customer (somewhere in Australia)
- 100% SEO score, 14 languages
- Zero knowledge about any of them
That's a conversion rate of 4.3% - someone told me that is actually pretty good.
In two days we test if craft beats growth hacking. And until then my mind is with my one Australian user who is like Schrödinger's customer - simultaneously happy and unhappy until they choose to contact me or leave a review! 📦🐱
Thats what building in the dark means for solo devs like me.
