I've launched PasteWand, a desktop AI agent for copied text, files, and folders.
The product decision I want to test is the entry point. Instead of asking users to start by creating a project, PasteWand starts with something they've selected and copied. The agent gets a private working copy, and the user reviews the output before applying changes.
It supports direct AI providers without a PasteWand account, with optional Cloud access. That gives technical users a way to try the workflow using a provider they already have. Provider costs still apply.
For this launch I'm focusing on Apple Silicon Mac users who already use AI tools, especially people moving between writing and small file tasks. Windows is available too, with WSL 2 required.
The open question is positioning: does “an AI agent for the things you copy” explain the value clearly enough before you see a demo?
