Launching Pfff!!! – Gamified venting app born from daily complaints & step-counter inspiration

Hey Indie Hackers!

I’ve been reading your stories for months and finally decided to share mine.

My close circle (especially my partner and my sister) complain a lot about daily frustrations – traffic, work annoyances, little life irritations. I noticed they needed a safe place to vent without feeling like they’re burdening anyone.

At the same time, I was fascinated by step-counter apps: people love hitting daily goals, earning streaks, and leveling up for something as simple as walking.

So I thought: why not combine the two? Turn venting into a daily habit that feels rewarding instead of negative.

That’s how Pfff!!! was born → https://pfff.meYou rant freely, earn XP, level up, and get instant replies in different tones (empathetic, cynical, sarcastic, humorous…).Free: 3 rants/day

Premium: unlimited + extra tones

It was also an amazing learning project for me: AI responses, audio/text processing, online payments, database – everything I’ve been studying lately.

Stats (total transparency):Just launched, users & revenue starting from zero

I’d really love your honest feedback:Would you use something like this?

What would make venting even more fun/addictive?

Any missing feature?

Try a quick rant and tell me what you think → https://pfff.meThanks for this incredible community!

Pfff!!!
  1. 1

We built something in the CAPTCHA space recently and learned (the hard way) how much friction it can add if you’re not careful.
How are you balancing UX vs abuse?

    Pfff — Habitual Whining 2.0? I’m French, so yes, I’m allowed 😈

Alright builders, let’s get real. I made Pfff, a gamified venting app — and yes, I’m French, so complaining is basically a superpower.

    Early testing shows:
📌 People enjoy ranting, but most don’t see why they’d open it daily.
📌 Gamification (XP, streaks, leaderboards) is fun… but is fun enough to stick?

    Here’s the challenge for you:

    • Solo streaks — enough, or do we need social pressure?

    • AI personality — addictive help or creepy distraction?

    • Am I chasing a dumb idea, or is there real viral potential here?

Be brutal. No polite nods. If it sucks, tell me. If it could work, explain why. I want this thread to be honest chaos.
