Launching ShyLink.io: Solving the "Static Credential" problem in chat history

Today, I'm officially launching ShyLink.io into the wild!

I spent the last few months building this because I was frustrated with the standard "URL Shortener" market. Most tools either feel like they were built in 2005 or they hide basic analytics behind a massive paywall.

But the real problem I wanted to solve was security. I hated knowing that every password or API key I shared over Slack or Discord was sitting there in the text history forever.

What’s inside the initial release:

  • Self-Destructing Secrets: Encrypted messages that burn on read.

  • Granular Control: Link expiry dates and hard click-limits.

  • Privacy-First Analytics: Geographic and device data straight out of the box.

  • Chrome Extension: Quick shortening without the dashboard.

I also integrated the Google Web Risk API to make sure the platform stays clean from malicious links.

Next steps: I'm focusing on building out the "Utility Hub" side of things—adding more free tools for developers and marketers to drive growth.

I’d love to hear what you think of the glassmorphic UI or if there are any specific "privacy" features you wish your current shortener had!
