Launching soon on Product Hunt. Looking for feedback.

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to announce the launch of the landing page for my product: contentsavvy.io.

It's a blog writing and SEO service using a productized service business model. (Similar to Designjoy.co, which found great success on Product Hunt.)

Aimed at SaaS startups and medium-sized online business owners.

It's a flat fee monthly subscription and focuses on the heart of SEO, which is creating great content, and building links.

As this is my first launch, I'd love to hear insights from the community on the landing page and specifically:

  1. What might be missing?
  2. Are there any unclear elements?
  3. Do you have any suggestions for improving?

Your feedback will be invaluable as I prepare to promote it on Product Hunt and move toward a launch at the end of the month.

Thank you so much for your time and input! 🙌

Have a nice day!

Love the landing page and the service idea!

    Some notes:

    • You use content strategy and SEO strategy interchangeably in a few places and mention content strategy on the pricing section. What’s the difference?
    • The section on what’s included in each article may be more impactful higher up on the page.

Us folks on indie hackers may not be the best people to give feedback on pricing since we tend to be builders/soloists and not content/marketing folks.

Nice landing page, well designed and clear navigation. Do you have any testimonials? Even if it's from your past work experience. I think for someone to signup they need some social proof.

    Hey Dan,

I interviewed 15 founders whose products ranked on top 3 and wrote a free guide on how to launch successfully on Product Hunt.

    Check it out

I really like the playfulness of the landing page. Best of luck on your launch 🙌

One guy from Twitter has shared a decent document on how to succeed on PH:

    tibo-maker[dot]notion[dot]site/Ultimate-guide-on-how-to-rank-1-on-Product-Hunt-589c000cd56f4baf9c64988a52eb4b4e

I do recommend skimming through the writing

This is a great guide. Much appreciated. We will definitely use this!

I think it's great that you're trying this approach and I'm excited to see how successful you'll be with it. The signs are good! Especially in times of AI content, it's especially important to find new models. Being mercilessly transparent about what your customers are getting could be a unique selling point.

But I would also like to say something about the design: I like the animations when you scroll to the new sections. But in the FAQ it looks a bit strange when the big black block suddenly overlays the white.

Also, I think you could use an interesting way to compare what customers get (22,000 dollars of value) and what they pay (3,999 dollars in the professional plan). Bar charts perhaps?

Keep us posted on how the business goes please!

Thanks so much for your comments. Yes the value and pricing seems to be coming up a lot, so it would be a good idea to focus on better showing the value.

We are working with the designer to iron out some the design issues. :) Many thanks!

As a new indiehacker and startup founder I would want to use this, but the price is what put me off unfortunately. You mention of course that you target medium sized startups but you may find success in using a much smaller price per year or per month for small startups that have no idea on SEO (ex. Me 🥲). As mentioned below the landing page seems a bit cramped, it may benefit from a TLDR.

One thing that may be a personal preference is that if you charge this price you may want to go to a darker color palette (ex. Revolut homepage). I don’t know why but I associate higher prices with darker themes and normal prices with lighter themes like yours.

On the positive side, the landing page seems great and a lot of work has gone in to it clearly and I think there is a big market for this so I believe you could find success.

Thanks for your comments! Very insightful to hear from someone who would want to use this type of service.

It's interesting that so many have picked up on the high price, but if you shop for all the included services elsewhere it would add to a much higher price. A standard rate for a good writer is $250+ per article and a standard rate for a backlink is $200-$750 depending on the quality. That adds up fast.

This is the value we've been trying to convey, but without the hassle of hiring team members, or hiring SEO agencies. It's an all-in-one service.

It has got me thinking that we need to have a really low-priced initial offering that allows businesses to try out. The problem I see with that is that we won't be able to deliver the full package and achieve the desired results.

      1. 1

Yes, it seems like a very tricky situation and that is maybe why it was compartmentalized by other companies so that it adds up higher. I say it is really worth a shot to try to find a silver lining (maybe disclose to your customers that the low-tier is lacking things so that the expectations are not high)

Looks interesting! A few things that come to mind right off the bat:

    • There's a lot going on on the landing page. Can you boil it down even more to make it shorter but get your value prop out earlier? You can move some of the content you have to dedicated pages & make sure they are SEO optimized.
    • You said that SaaS startups are your target customers. I might just be too early in the process, but the lowest tier for almost 3k/month is really steep & will need some serious in-person sales. Is there any way you can offer a free trial, a case study or some other way to lower the barrier for entry?
    • Small little UI bug: The top nav bar that gets sticky when you scroll down is in my (Chrome) search bar. Looks like it needs some more offset on the top.

    Hope this helps!

    1. 1

Thank you. I really appreciate the feedback. I'll have a think about how I can simplify and get to the value prop earlier.

I'm aiming for an audience that understands the need for content marketing and SEO, and have the budget and desire to quickly scale up their organic results.

But as you suggested, there may be ways of lowering the barrier to entry - whether that's through pricing or some free content to show the value.

      1. 1

People that have that size of budget for SEO & content marketing probably have figured out a lot about their process already and might not have the need to switch unless you have something truly different to offer (performance or drastically lower price). An alternative way to frame it for yourself could be how do you get people that don't have that kind of budget to see the value and figure out a way to get it.

As a new indiehacker and startup founder I would want to use this, but the price is what put me off unfortunately.
Is there a free trial version?

  10. 1

I like the landing page, the messaging is clear. I'd say instead of the visuals about your process, perhaps showcase a client (screenshot of their landing page + screenshot of article you wrote for them + where they rank on a Google search).

I think that would speak more clearly to the benefit that your potential users would like to get out of using your service.

Hey!! We have just launched on ProductHunt and our product is among teh top 5 products of the day. It would be great if you could check out our product and provide your invaluable feedback!
What's really cool about our launch is that we're creating a special tool that converses with you, much like the iconic Siri or J.A.R.V.I.S from movies. This tool can help all students learn better and give extra help to those who need it because of their learning differences.

    Check out Languify on productHunt!!

I would love any tips or ideas you may have on how I can keep growing revenue. What has worked for your business that I should try? Do you see any quick wins based on my approach so far? I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thank you for considering helping me take Synapse Tech to the next level.

Let me know if you would like any other details on my business or progress.

As for the prices, they seem really expensive to me. 1100 dollars for an item? Making a good article with keyword research and internal and even external links can take at most 3 hours. I think someone who understands a little bit of SEO can see something strange here.

    1. 1

So that figure you mentioned is just showing the value of what we are providing for each article, not what we are charging.

We are not just an article-writing service. We provide in-depth research and build content silos to help businesses build topical authority. We also provide internal linking strategies, custom images, and the articles are optimized using an NLP keyword tool.

We also include high-quality backlinks that are expensive and/or difficult to obtain.

There is a ton of value packed in that most writers don't provide.

Our challenge is finding a way of showing all this value to potential clients.

    Hello!
Regarding seo, I can see that your website is not indexed in google. Maybe you have to connect it to google search console and send the sitemap there. You can check it by searching in google site:https://contentsavvy.io/ you will see that there is no result.
    Best regards

    1. 1

Thanks. Yeah it's a brand new site that just went live a couple of days ago, so it won't be indexed yet. We haven't launched yet either, still very much in the development phase :)

  15. 1

the website looks nice and I had no issues browsing. Not an expert on the matter but the prices are high, I have worked on medium size companies and they won't jump into it without clear results expectations and they were not present. I'd like to see what I am paying for. hope it helps

    1. 1

Thank you. Yes, we are working on ways to demonstrate the results we can achieve. As part of MVP launch, we are considering offering a free or low-priced option to build our case studies and testimonials.

It feels like a super copy of the design joy website but it's SEO. I would actually argue with many and say that Design Joy was not that big on SEO. He has a great design offering but his website is not really an SEO-oriented website. My suggestion is to try a design of your own and offer some examples of your work as a freelances that show your conversion percentages and some success stories

    1. 1

Thanks - yeah it may have taken inspiration from DesignJoy, but by no means is it a copy. It's completely original content and design. You make a good point about showing examples of work.

I am not someone who would want this service.

If I try to think like someone who would want this, I have these questions:

    • How many people work at contentsavvy? It would be nice to see it on the landing page. More people is the better. More chance to have my order ready in time. More chance to get quality work because they are not overwhelmed.
    • What topics is contentsavvy good in? Are they good in Crypto, or in Science? How will I know that I actually get quality content. You guys may not even be familiar with the topic.

    Other things:

    • UI issue: the site is vertically scrollable.
    • Annoying part of UI: if I scroll over an animated element, then when I scroll back to the top, I should see it sit there casually. I don't want to wait for the animation as many times as I scroll down or up. (For example section "Our process").
    1. 2

Thanks for your feedback. The UI issues have been addressed and we will look at ways to share more about the people behind the project.
