Hey IH! I just set up the SpokenPages profile here, so I figured I'd introduce what I'm building and where things stand.
What it is
SpokenPages converts YouTube videos into clean, structured PDFs. Paste a link, get a document with real paragraphs, sections, and print-friendly formatting. Optionally, a Smart Overview at the top gives you key takeaways and timestamps before you dive in.
What makes it different
Most transcript tools pull YouTube's auto-generated captions and dump them as text. SpokenPages listens to the actual audio using OpenAI Whisper, then structures the output into something you'd want to read. It works even when captions don't exist, and the quality difference is immediately obvious.
The paragraph breaking is deterministic: pause duration, sentence boundaries, length constraints. No LLM involved in formatting. The result is predictable and clean every time.
Where I am right now
Product is live at spokenpages.page
Free credits on signup, no card required
Credit-based pricing (no subscriptions, credits never expire)
Solo founder, bootstrapped
Currently in Early Access, collecting feedback on output quality
What's next
My priority is production Stripe setup and launching paid bundles. After that, speaker-based section breaks and translation as a paid add-on are on the roadmap.
What I'd love from this community
Honest feedback on the output. Try it with a lecture, a podcast, a conference talk: anything over 20 minutes where you'd normally never go back to rewatch. Tell me if the document feels like something you'd keep.
Happy to answer any questions about the stack, pricing decisions, or the build process. More updates coming as I hit milestones.
Your work is really really nice... I tried it.
I was working with the video that i opted from your website
but when i pasted my link it was not working.
indiehackers comment feature is not allowing me to share my YT video link here.
Anyways ..... not criticizing , just helping you with my honest experience.
Keep going , keep rocking.
Hi Vidushi, thank you for your comment, really appreciated!
I think you might found something, I was able to reproduce it and I have fixed it. Want to try it again and let me know your feedback?
Thanks again for your positive take :)
