About this guide

I asked mobile developers a simple question on social media: What do you wish you had known before launching your 1st app? Their answers are summarised in this checklist.

One tip I’d put near the top for Android utilities: explain permissions in plain language before users have to grant them. With Kinetic Override, the feature is touch macro recording, but the trust hurdle is Accessibility permission + local-only profiles. If that wording is vague, people bounce before trying the actual loop.

This is amazing, thank you! I haven’t released my app yet, but plan on doing so within the next couple months and will now be referencing this checklist as I go.

I am writing up a guide to help indie app dev optimize their app and grow it.

I am writing a guide to share tips and resources that can make developers life easy, all in one place.

This guide is not fully complete, although largely done, and I am still looking for inputs from fellow devs. So if there is anything you would like to add, please let me know.

    Topics I want to cover

    • Pre-launch: a to-do list before launching your app

    • Launch: places to post it, acquiring your first testers & customers

    • Growth: Keywords research, competitor analysis

    • Analytics: Review and feedback analysis, KPIs

    • ASO: App Store Optimisation guide, A/B testing

    • Tools: useful tools & resources for the above

So please, if you had a eureka moment when releasing your app - share it below!

Thank you for sharing this post. I'm just learning to program, but I started my first application on the No Code platform & LowCode, and will soon share with the community about getting feedback. Maybe someone will want to join and try this new software https://www.nwcode.io/
