If you want your team members to grow constantly, create a place for them to learn from.
We all know the benefits of reading. In my opinion, these 3 are the most important. It:
Words have great power - they are spells. They transform us, often make us change our value system. Each subsequent dose of knowledge or another view on a topic that is close to us is a step further on the path of your mental development, emotional, and even physical (as all these planes are connected).
Ok, but this we all know, right?
What is a company library then?
Ooo, that's the most simple but extremely powerful solution. It is a publicly available database of educational materials cataloged by subject, bringing together items that develop various skills at work and in life.
For a faster flow of information, you may as well use your team's messenger, where you will create a dedicated education channel.
We use a dedicated Slack channel to separate articles, videos, podcasts, and case studies from everyday conversations. Casually paste a link to the material that we want to share with the team. We gather them one drive once per week.
Sooo much value in those folders :)
Doing so, you're saving solo much time. You'll find it very convenient and easy to share this knowledge with others, help your teammates learn, and make onboarding of new ones easier.
Gather the materials carefully. Value your time and understand exactly what would be the most effective to develop and get to know right now.
From my experience and probably many, it's best to focus on this which you can implement in life after reading.
Before delving into words, answer the questions:
Do I plan to use the proposed knowledge in the next year?
If I came across this material on my own, would I get to read it?
Will I be able to use knowledge written in life or at work?
Take these questions into account when creating a company library for yourself and your team. Give them to your colleagues, too, so that they can be more attentive to the choice of materials to develop them.
Much love and growth spirit!
Haaa yeee!
