Learning slowly

I read a lot. PDFs, articles, watch YouTube lectures. And at some point I realized that despite consuming so much, I was not learning anything that sticks .

The highlights and notes I wrote on my notebooks were lost and sometimes even when the notes existed understanding was lacking .

Meanwhile the world went the other direction AI summaries that left the most important aspects of consuming media, the anecdotal aspects behind discoveries.

But faster consumption isn't learning. It's just a different kind of forgetting.

I came to understand that learning is simple you only need foundational blocks that build a hierarchy of understanding in any field, a basic building block or knowledge blocks that I like to call contextbytes which is what this whole project is about

A "context byte" is the smallest unit of your understanding. Not a summary someone else wrote. Not an AI's interpretation. A piece of knowledge you extracted, in your own words, attached to the exact page where you found it.

So I built this for myself first. No speed metrics. No streaks. No "books per month" counter. Just a place to read slowly, think carefully, and actually own what you learn.
