Learning to ship: releasing the website

Hey IHers! πŸ‘‹

I'm throwing myself into indie-hacking in 2021 and here is my first solo project, sendsheet.co

I've never really struggled with ideas πŸ’‘
Always struggled with validation βœ…
Always struggled with product fit πŸ‘–
Always struggled with shipping a product 🚒

Maybe many here can relate.

At least I'm trying to solve one, for now πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It's not revolutionary or the most technically amazing product - but for those that want to send free scheduled bulk email fast, make them prettier, reduce copy-pasting admin and not have platform lock-in to do so - I think there could be some use in it. I built it to help me get information out to the sports team I'm a member of, fast and pre-planned. I'm opening it up for others to find their use case in it.

I'm aiming to start closed beta in the next week or so, and open it up sometime in February. The email sending & scheduling, text editor, and contact import through a Google Sheet or CSV/.TXT file all exist, I'm just diving into the UI a bit until the beta. It's exciting times just clicking around and using it myself which is cool.

If worst comes to worst, I can proudly close it down taking my learnings with me. But for now, I'll put it out there and learn a whole bunch about getting feedback, building a marketing website, and continue building my skills in web-app creation and plumbing.

It's scary putting stuff into the public domain. I did what I termed a 'soft launch' of the site a few days ago and hid under the blankets for about three hours with the wifi switched off. But I want to learn to build in public, share what I learn as well as take lessons from the community - It seems great here.

I sat on the sidelines in 2020 (not even a member at that point) but this year I'm diving in 🏊

Sidenote: Happy to both give and receive feedback, just paste a link in the comments to your projects and I'll check them out and get back to you :)

Happy days everyone,
