Leaving my corporate 9-5 for permanent Indie Hacking. Advice needed.

After 8 years in a comfy job in Tech Consulting, I've decided it's time to chase my dreams of building and launching products full-time. I have some savings runway built-up, and I've got a big bowl of corporate frustration built up for motivation.

I feel like I am now home. Wish me luck fellow Indie Hackers!

On my mind right now are three things:

  • So many places to start.
There are just TOO MANY opportunities in this amazing digital world we live in. Which to focus on, which to ignore.

  • 8 years of external structure.
For 8 years, most of my motivation to stay focussed and work hard came from outside sources. Now, it's time to grow and nurture internal motivation.

  • Fear and Negativity
Economic crises left and right, COVID-19, naysayers, profits of doom. Constant battle to stay positive.

On my short-term radar are three things:

Where are you on your Indie Hacking journey?

Any tips from those who've made this jump before?

Execution is everything. Ideas are a dime a dozen. Be prepared to fail...many times. You’ll need the grit and learning experience that comes from that to weather the storm. Don’t do it to make money; do what you’re passionate about. Money is a side affect.

    Good luck!

      Thanks for the good advice!

Good luck man. I'm not sure if I'd do that (totally quit to pursue something new), but everyone with their own choice :)

Feedback Link user interface reminds me a lot of TypeForm, are you trying to compete with them on the "get feedback" front?

Haha, I wasn't sure either, but I took the leap nonetheless! I'm unmarried with no kids, so there's that :-)

Feedback Link isn't a direct competitor to Typeform no, however I'm a huge fan of Typeform's UI - hence the resemblance.
