Legal basics many founders overlook when launching their first product

When founders are building and shipping fast, legal and compliance tasks are usually pushed to the bottom of the list. That’s completely understandable, especially during MVP or beta.

However, even early-stage products often need a few essentials in place from day one: clear Terms & Conditions, a Privacy Policy, basic data-handling disclosures, and simple user or payment rules. This becomes even more important if you’re collecting emails, running payments, offering subscriptions, or building anything involving AI or user data.

I work with startups and indie builders to help simplify this process by drafting clear, practical legal documents that fit how early products actually work—without overcomplicating things or slowing down launch timelines. The goal is to help founders stay protected while they focus on building and growing.

I’m curious how others here approach legal setup in the early stages—do you DIY it, use templates, or wait until there’s traction?
