Lessons from first Product Hunt launch
Yesterday, we enjoyed a full day on the front page of PH. As my first time, I didn't expect anything at all. I'm grateful for the experience and hope this helps others going through the same.

Note the 7-day rule. When you're hunted, you can reschedule up to 7 days out. I'm grateful to our hunter and things turned out beautifully. But just note you can't delay, reschedule, or even cancel, so be ready. Just something I didn't realize.

Let go. It can be maddening to see rank drop despite comments and upvotes. Greed can take over. You'll want to get from #6 to #5. Insecurity can take over. You'll want to get from #10 to #9. Know those emotions may come. Don't succumb to them and let them drive counter-productive behavior like spamming.

Don't put too much stake in the outcome. Grateful if it goes well, okay if it doesn't. It's the first day in a long slog if execution. Move on quickly. That was yesterday. Today, onward and upward.

I was thoroughly disappointed when I got only 7 upvotes when i launched on thursday...few days of twitter spamming...and voila...front of the PH with just 60 upvotes
Congrats, that's great! I could use some pointers on Twitter (0 followers, starting from scratch as I was with PH).
I wouldn't recommend what I did ...you can see my previous posts....My twitter account for my other project nodesign.dev got suspended bcoz of this...but I had a goal to trend on PH...so I took the risk...
