🤓 Lessons I learned just after launching on Product Hunt

This is the first time I launch a product on Product Hunt! 🥳. I've been secretly working on a side project Kickass Tuber for more than 6 months.

We are about to launch a new version and it's very exciting!, but I wanted to make some tests avoid doing it wrong from the beginning. I'll probably do it wrong anyway but making small tests will help me to debug the process and reach the success someday 🙏. I'm worried about failing with Kickass Tuber, so if I try to make a small launch first, I can see where I fail.

So this is the first step of this plan, I decided to make a small sale of some of the thumbnail templates we have inside our platform and sell them almost free just to check if people are interested in this kind of product.

I didn't plan this launch on Product Hunt. We did a landing page some days ago to get some leads, and this morning I wanted to give it a try on Product Hunt and see how it works.

I just launched it. I took a couple of screenshots of the landing page and I didn't schedule it. I went live a few minutes later. Nothing happened.

I checked Product Hunt and my product wasn't on the list. Ok, so what happened? Looks like there are so many products on the list. Mine doesn't have enough upvotes to be on top of the list. Probably the best option next time would be to schedule the launch to be released earlier (it's impressive that I launched at 1:42 AM PT and there was already more than 20 products!), so if you are in the list from the beginning it would be easier to get some upvotes. Next time I will also plan the launch sending a newsletter to my current customers so hopefully, they will also vote up for my product letting me stay in a higher position in the list for more time.
