I was thinking of increasing our followers count on Product Hunt, thus helping each other out in our future launches.

I have over 500 followers on PH and never understood the utility of it? Someone mind explaining?
The utility of having followers, or the utility of following others back?
The utility of having followers is that they are notified when you launch a product.
The utility of following back others is that whenever anyone launches a product, we can support him or her. It is very unlikely for two or more followers of yours to launch on the same day so that they compete with each other.
At least this was how I saw it when I created this post. I think that if the community here on IH helps each other, there is a bigger chance of success. I hope this helps you understand why I created this post.
Not to increase my number of followers, as that brings no value, but once you launch a product, if the followers you have like your project and upvote it, you can get more exposure and so on. You can, in turn, do the same for others, when they launch their own product.

You can simply ignore these threads, altho I agree what your feeling....
but I usually just read and move along :) best way to deal with things that dont interest you in life is not letting them stop ya from reaching ur goals
It is your opinion. The fact that we follow each other, is to help each other promote our products in the future. If you don't want to be part of it, you don't have too. But if you cannot see the benefit, don't bash the thread, just because you fail to see the big picture. Good luck.

We have to agree to disagree. But you should refrain from insults buddy. I did absolutely nothing to you, so spare me with your fake moral high ground. I am not begging for anything. If someone doesn't want to follow me, then so be it, but as you can see, a lot of people agree with this idea, just like the one with twitter and so on.
