Let's depolarise the world!

So after a couple of years of lockdown TLC, V1 of my side project is live.

Quick back story: my first son was born the day Brexit was announced in the UK (and a few months before Trump was elected in the US). Shortly afterwards, I read Rebel Ideas by Matthew Syed, an awesome book about the damage that can be done by homogenous/non-diverse thinking within companies and teams.

As we all know, these problems have got worse since. The world is tribal and toxic. This is the opposite of what the internet was supposed to do. So I challenged myself to take a shot at something that could improve things.

So... SHUFFLETHINK is a super simple site designed to provide a new type of debate structure and surface truly diverse opinions but without the mechanisms that generate so much hate and division. There's also no advertising and there are no algorithms.

There are 2 target users I'm looking for:

  1. People who want to debate political ideas with their friends in a new kind of way - basically by thinking thoroughly about a topic together rather than contradicting one another

  2. People at companies who want to poll and organise a diverse group to understand all possible perspectives within a team and which ones are felt to be best by the group overall, without having to do it via endless emails, slacks or long meetings

Sound interesting?
