Let me use terms 'Low-code' and 'No-code' as synonyms here. According to that approach an IT-system can be developed visually. The topic becomes hot today. Probably you've faced (or have heard about) plenty of products for "developing without any code". There are a lot of people who name themselves 'Makers'.
I do fancy the idea. We should not develop similar pieces of functionality again and again from scratch! Low-code brings to life the idea of using customisable high-level building blocks for apps. That is great!
The conventional wisdom says that these visual constructors can be applicable for building an MVPs, but if you want to develop something significant, you have to code it traditionally. Let me figure out that this is not so true nowadays!
I haven't seen a unique low-code platform suitable for building the whole complex app. But there are plenty of platforms which are focused on creating one 'building block' of an app. Having applied a few one can deliver pretty complex product. These are my favourites:
Thus, I am avoiding tons of routine work. Also I don't have to messing around with infrastructure!
Let's discuss such an approach! What do you think?
We are creating Directual—a tool for visual backend development. It's free of charge while the app doesn't produce significant load.
