Hi healthcare hackers!
I was waiting for a group like this to be created. It's good to meet you all.
I was thinking we could introduce ourselves, our relationship to the healthcare field, and our ideas/projects?
I'll go first! I'm Jonny, I'm a surgical trainee and I've started a company called surgerylabs (www.surgerylabs.net). We build high fidelity simulation models.
Hey!
I'm a physician and maker. I took online coding course a few years ago to build Dilato https://dilato.app/, an app to help doctors make their clinical reports faster. Last year, it generated enough revenue to hire 2 full time developers.
Wow Dilato looks very cool! I'm curious if the EMR integration allows you to send structured data or just plain text? What fields in the EMR are updated with you send the data to the EMR and how does it know which patient profile to attach it to?
Hi Montana,
Thanks for your comment!
Dilato is pasting plain text to the underneath application, in the fields that has focus. So, currently, it's not an integration, it's just pasting to another app, and there is no structured data.
Ah! I see. I love that. Great way to get around the heavy lifting of an integration, but still improve the UX substantially.
Hello!
My indie project is not directly related to healthcare, but my last full-time software engineer/UX job I left is a startup in the acute care space for clinicians. I helped build, design, and do UX research for a multi-app platform from year 0-6. I'm still really interested in the patient/clinician experience and what folks are innovating on.
Hi! I'm a product person with an engineering background. I left a digital health startup last year to work on my own thing.
Our mission is to empower digital health companies with infrastructure and tooling so that they can focus on building the best digital patient experience and delivering first-class care.
We’re starting with patient data collection from sign up through intake. And we're building a platform will enable digital care delivery startups to build custom, branded digital flows that collect the information they need from their patients/members and seamlessly integrates with the tools required to operate the business. We know from experience that building these flows in-house and/or stringing together 3rd party tools to accomplish the task is expensive, messy, and time-consuming.
