Let's provide feedback to each other. Drop links below.

I know it's hard to get feedback. Maybe we should just need to return the favor. Let's give each other meaningful feedback by dropping the links below.

Let's provide detailed feedback to each other.

Here's mine https://mvpmaker.co/
What's yours?

I appreciate this initiative! In my own journey of content creation, we experimented with various mediums, and I can share some insights that might help.

For video, I found that authenticity and storytelling resonate best. Short, engaging snippets (think 1-2 minutes) work wonders on platforms like Instagram or TikTok. We saw that videos that included personal anecdotes garnered 30% more engagement compared to straightforward how-tos, which was a surprising but welcome insight.

When it comes to audio, focusing on niche topics allowed us to carve out a loyal audience. Podcast episodes around 20-30 minutes seem to hold attention well, and including segments where listeners can ask questions or share their experiences has really increased interaction and retention.

Written content has been a bit of a balancing act. Long-form articles with a mix of practical tips and personal insights have worked well for us. The introduction of targeted keywords based on research significantly helped improve visibility; we experienced a 40% increase in organic traffic after implementing a structured content calendar that prioritized SEO.

In terms of what content to produce, I’d suggest a mix of educational and personal stories. This not only builds connection but also creates a community atmosphere. Don’t forget some element of interaction like polls or asking for feedback because it helps shape your following while making them feel involved.

Let’s keep sharing what works and adapt as we go! If you're looking for feedback on specific pieces, I'd be happy to give more tailored thoughts.

    Here’s mine: https://www.bigideas.guru

    Feedback on yours:
Nice website, your service is very similar to one of mine, i offer a temp CTO service, i think it is a good concept and the price seems pretty good. My question is how are you going to get customers? You are competing with a lot of freelancer sites, but i understand you can offer all the services under one roof which I think a lot of people will like.

    1. 1

      Hi Cannonball2134,

      Some quick insights:

      1. 60% get what you do. I think you're communicating a lot of stuff from due diligence, tech select, cost risk but it seems like the way to go would be to just hack together a quick MVP and see what feedback from real customers are first. It's light and easy.
      2. You said this is your target market:
      • Non technical entrepreneurs who need help selecting technology and want to understand costs.
      • Technical entrepreneurs who want to save time, or don't have the necessary experience.
      • Companies who want to outsource cost estimation
      • Investors and VC's that want to validate cost estimates

I think the non tech entrepreneur would have some tech friends to ask or hustle to find them. The tech entrepreneur already knows how to do it. Not sure on companies and investors. More importantly, what has their feedback been? What has your customers said about it?

      Bill

      1. 1

The best way to validate your product is to get customer feedback and then figure out if it is financially doable. If you are not going to be able to make a profit or raise the 100k+ for manufacturing then it may not be worth doing. Certainly an MVP helps get customer feedback, so i wouldn't suggest not having one. However, not everyone has the skills, time, or tech friends willing to spend their time creating an MVP.

This is a new project, so i am still trying to get feedback to see if this is a worthwhile service to offer.

        Thanks for your feedback.

        1. 1

I understand. You said that not everyone has the skills or tech friends to create their MVP.

I wrote this 5 min read on how to hack an MVP together in days

I can't code myself so I always think of manual, no code ways to validate an MVP.

Thanks, being a founder of a tech startup and a CTO for another, i am probably not your target audience for these, but thanks for trying to help.

            1. 1

Sure, no worries. Our tm are founders that want to build a quick mvp, find customers, and charge revenue (fyi)

              1. 1

https://www.BigIdeas.guru is my quick MVP, I am now on the find customers stage to validate the idea/service. I don't really need the berlocks accountability service, but might be interested in the finding customers and getting feedback aspects. However, i am looking for more info than the standard try ads, forums, create a blog, social media etc... Happy to jump on a call if you want to chat about it.

                1. 1

Hi @Cannonball2134 . Thank you for visiting our website.
We are still weighing some options on what are the best ways to get customers. Do you have some insights to share? It will greatly helps us. We have driven traffic on our website but now that we are obtaining feedback from people we realize that we are not directly getting the right target.

Here is my feedback to https://www.bigideas.guru

Have A New Product Idea? What does it cost to build and manufacture - I'm a bit confused of what is the value you want to give your customer. Is it the costing of the new product? Or is it advice if the idea is feasible? The first few lines are focusing on costing and the succeeding lines talk about feasibility of the idea. I think it doesn't flow accordingly. You should validate first your idea before doing the costing. If you are showing the costing first, it's like I already validated my idea and I just need to consult on how much would it cost me to build the product.

Product Cost Repot - you are mixing up costing with feasibility. They are two separate things. Costing is how much money do I need to build the product whether it's feasible or not. Feasibility is determining if the idea can be built conveniently and if there's a market for such idea.

Why is this important? - you are discussing about cashflow but product cost report will not really explain my cashflow. It is just a budget. Maybe you could rephrase it like if you have the right estimate it help you plan accordingly the disbursement of cash while matching it with your cash inflows.

Since you are offering a consulting service, I think it is important to give the background of the experts who are behind the research. Consultancy service requires a lot of expertise and a lot of trust. You may also include the model/approach on how you do the feasibility study. You can check technavio.com. I think they have similar service with yours.

Hope these help. :-) Good luck to your startup!

      1. 1

        Thanks for your feedback.
I wrote this on another comment: The best way to validate your product is to get customer feedback and then figure out if it is financially doable. If you are not going to be able to make a profit or raise the 100k+ for manufacturing then it may not be worth doing. I guess i am calling it product validation, but it is probably more startup validation. I didn't want to call it startup validation because i didn't want to limit the market to only new startups, although that would be the best fit for the service.

Understanding how much things cost is important to cash flow. Cash flow is money going out and coming in, so getting a cost report will help with managing cash flow better, but is certainly not the only consideration. I agree it could do with being made clearer.

Good point on the background of experts, that is useful to have.

Thanks for the link, technavio.com look to be more market research than individual product cost analysis.

    Here's mine: https://www.galwaytogether.com/

    Feedback for https://mvpmaker.co/:

I really like the website itself, the site is engaging and looks professional.
I'am confused on the content however.

The opening large text "We find and we manage your IT team. Save your time for a fixed price"
that is confusing to me. Do you have the IT team members signed up already that are ready to work on projects for businesses who sign up?
Or when a company signs up do you then try pair them with the correct resources?
"Save your time for a fixed price" that is a bold statement to make. IT projects are renowned for going over budget. How do you ensure this?

On the Features section there are sentences that I expect to lead to more specific information but it does not.
    e.g.

"We do the hard work for you." "We take care of it."
    "We do these for you."

The grammar could also improve. "From the beginning you already know what you are paying for".
    This could be worded better.

For each individual block of text there are to many generic terms. Get straight to the point on what you are offering as a business.

I'm assuming the only plan at the moment is for small projects as you have stated with the standard price?
I can't see any other pricing option other than that.

It is a very nice site though, hope my comments help 🙂

      Hi Neilc891,

      Some quick insights:

      1. I get what you're building. Online presence for locals businesses in Galway. Cool.
      2. The website allows businesses to post a listing with social but a few I looked at doesn't have covid times (times open during covid). Is this something your working to add soon?
      3. How do you guys drive locals to this website? I understand that businesses have an incentive to go and list but how do you push consumers there to go see?

      Bill

      1. 2

Hi @billatberlocks thanks for reviewing my site. Ya we are very reliant on the info each business sends to us. What ever information they feel like they want to share we share. If they do not provide specific info regarding covid times/delivery etc then we don't mention it.
Driving locals to the website is the tough part. As myself and the other co founder have both lived in Galway all our lives we shared initially on our own social media profiles and then set up Galway Together profiles on FB, LinkedIn, Twitter (still need to set-up Instagram).
Driving locals to the site is where we struggle, we only get 2 - 5 likes on our posts.
If you have any ideas on this?

        Neil

        1. 1

Unless this .com was a way for you to validate a bigger idea, I think a hacked together Facebook group would do the trick.

          1. Most businesses have Facebook, and can come and post their info (times open, menu items, specials)
          2. Most people have Facebook and can easily come to the group to see what's new.
          3. Facebook is easier for sharing. If you get businesses in they'll share the page, you and your friends can share the page to all their friends (locals) with one post.

I think the MVP is a facebook group.

          1. 1

Yeah the idea is to make this into a larger community. We are still working on that :)
            Thanks for the info though!

            1. 1

Sure, just thought of another way. It's do things that don't scale but right now you have a website that you want to build a community area of local businesses and their customers.

Once you physically onboard each business into the system, try giving them a sticker they can post on their store front.

'Want to know when we're open if what's on the menu?

              Go to galwaytogether.com'

Over time your stickers will be on more store fronts and that will generate some traffic.

              Bill

              1. 2

Hey Bill, that's a great idea. I will try find out how this can be implemented.
                Thanks a lot for this.

                Neil

    2. 1

Thank you so much @Neilc891 for the very detailed points. I highly appreciate!
Here's my feedback to your website:

I'm actually impressed with the website. It's very appealing and lively.
However, since I'm not from Galway, first thought that came to my mind is why Galway? Is it trying to say that you can post if you are a shop or a restaurant or related to fashion maybe. I was making some guesses based on the photos.

Since I want to know more, I went to the About Us Page.
So I figured out that the website was made because of Covid-19 pandemic. This impacted me, you are connecting to people on a deeper level. The fact that you are showing your photos and stating your thoughts, it's like you are talking to me on a personal level. I might do the same to my website :-)

I understand now that the website was made for business owners in Galway (which is a place). I think this is a good thing that you are very specific as to who is your market.

      Below are some points:

When going to the featured shops, the images on the right are not related to the shop. I'm expecting that you will showcase there the shop's photos or even make online delivery in there. We have similar one stop shop here in my location which was made also because of the pandemic wherein you can make online delivery.

Since you have a growing directory of shops, I think putting a search engine button will enhance user experience. We all have our favorite shop that we check first if available before browsing for other options.

Hope these help. :-) Thank you again.

      1. 1

Hi @CodeDotCare, no problem at all :)
Thank you for reviewing my site also. The images on the right are just for bread crumbs.
But great comment, it is obviously confusing so I need to re think that section.

I agree, I think more photos or something that will make each business more personal will be of benefit.
The search engine capability is something I definitely need. The filters can only do so much.

I appreciate all the advice :)

https://conferfly.com New way to use conference rooms with zoom, meet, teams, etc
what you think about the new idea ?

  5. 1

Nice page! I think you explain the service well, but my personal and biased opinion is that I don't find the illustrations handy. They don't really help to further explain what you offer. I react better to screenshot, gifs, a showcase of the platform, etc. But it's a very personal opinion.

Currently working on https://mindfold.co/ - a collection of tools for marketing team leaders who want to use mental models for work. Curious to hear what you think :)

  6. 1

I just "soft launched" a new idea. It's kind of an analytics service, the difference is, it directly monitors your server log output. You can browse your server logs, see which url takes more time to response etc. As it's server side logging, It can be particularly useful for monitoring your api.
You can review it at https://logstory.xyz

    I'm Bill from Berlocks.com

Berlocks is accountability for founders. We pair founders for weekly 1:1 calls to build a quick MVP, find customers, and charge revenue.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    1. 1

Hi Bill, thanks for your feedback.

      My Feedback on Berlocks.com:

      • Why Berlocks.com? That is an odd name.
      • Accountability is great, it pushes you to keep on going, but would you pay someone to keep you accountable? I personally wouldn't. I think you are in a similar situation to me, part of what you offer can be found for free, but often is difficult to do or requires specialist knowledge, so are people willing to pay to accelerate their progress or get a detailed and focused solution? I would say some are, but it's difficult to find these people without a lot of website traffic or advertising.
      • You are competing with coaching and advice services, but also places like indiehackers that does in a small way keep you accountable. Overall, a nice idea, it's a difficult market, but maybe worth combining it with some other offering (what offering, i don't know).
      1. 1

        Thanks for your feedback!

        1. Berlocks is Bill (me) + Sherlock (my hero)
        2. People have been paying for accountability for some time now. Fitness trainers train you and keep you accountable. Tutors teach you and keep you accountable. We want to help our users build a quick MVP, find customers, and charge revenue and keep them accountable. The #1 people say is that the brainstorming sessions with other founders are the biggest value for them.

Founder life is hard so having someone to regularly talk to and push you to make progress is important.

        1. Yep, very grateful for IH, and other forums in this space.

        Bill

    Hi CodeDotCare

    Some quick insights:

    1. I get what you're trying to do: Development team as a service. That's the first I've heard of that so cool.
    2. There's a few problems I have with outsourcing your MVP/product to an outsourcing team. Speed, communication, and paying to iterate. But in your idea, you address this by a subscription model. How do you address speed and communication from customers to development team to create the product?
    3. Curious who's your target market? $1699/month as a subscription model to build an MVP. Who has enough money (i don't think it's consumers) to pay monthly to build an MVP (probably not an enterprise either because they already have the development expertise)?

    Bill

    1. 2

Hi Bill, Thank you for visiting our website and for the feedback.
It's cool that you understood that we are a development team as a service. We had some difficulty explaining this to our prospects and has to keep iterating it since the norm is developing on per project basis.

On your 2nd question, we have a project manager for each team so the customer has to speak only to the project manager. We also have an online platform where the customers can login and see the progress report. It's a dashboard wherein you can see your team members, the tasks to complete the project, the number of hours allocated for each task and how many hours have been incurred to date.

On the third, the $1,699 is actually low cost. You are having a team and not just one developer for just $1,699. You will save a lot of time in building a team and managing it. The cost of building a team on your own is much higher specially if you're a non-tech founder. We focus on startup companies who have experienced those pain points.

      Thank you again :-)

      1. 2

        I see. For #3

If it's an early startup, the team should be the initial founders building the product. So if you have one engineer who can build the product then you wouldn't need the team right? (maybe your team can build more stuff faster)

        1. How expensive is it to build and manage your own tech team?
        2. I'm interested in this because a startup that can pay $1699 a month has revenue, either from their product or funding. Is your target market startups that are funded or making cash money already?
        3. Question #2 in a better way. Do you have paying users now? What's their feedback on it?

        Bill

        1. 1

          Hello Bill,
I am a co-founder of MVP Maker so I can answer your questions.

          1. The value for a customer is not in money, is it in time, entrepreneurs spend a lot of time looking to build their teams if you are a non-tech person is a pain.
          2. Our target is based on startups with an initial fund and needs to improve their product, but we are looking for more options for solo-founder so we can help them too
          3. We have some people interested but not close deals yet.

          Greetings,
          Mateo.

          1. 1
            1. I kind of get it
            2. I don't get it. I'm not sure how a company would get funded without a technical team to build the product. Instead outsourcing it for $1699/month. Maybe I'm wrong here. The price isn't so high but the non techinical ability of that team is what makes me worry.
            3. Curious what's been the biggest blocker for people? What have they said?
  9. 1

Wow, one of the coolest sites I’ve seen in a while. I love the font and colors. The mission is great and the icons are fantastic. If I can recommend anything, I’d say keep the header shorter than like the 10-12 words it is. That way, a short clincher entices more people to navigate through your site and know/believe what you do!

We just started Belongery.com, please let me know what you think of it!

    1. 2

      Hi Adamdaha,

      Some quick insights:

      1. 10% understand what you do. How does belongery allow you to share moments of belonging personally or professionally? What is a moment of belonging? A 30 sec clip petting your dog?
      2. You said 'Create content and get in touch with the people you love'. What medium is it in? Video, Audio, Written. What content do you want people to produce? How do they share with their love ones?
      3. Product pics would help to understand what this is more.

      Bill

    2. 2

Thank you @adamdaha .. Good to hear that you like our website. Although we still have a lot to work on.

      Here's my feedback to Belongery.com

I think you are at early stage of developing your landing page?
When scrolling down, it is a bit slow. So I'm thinking if you will drive a lot of traffic on your website this could be a problem in the future.
I understand that this is a social platform to build community. However, what is the unique feature that will differentiate your platform to others?
I like the tagline but the background doesn't resonates. I'm expecting more on a lively one.

Hope these help. Good luck to your startup! :-)

      Hi Rrttalv,

      Some quick insights:

      1. I get what you do, and clear communication.
      2. Curious why this space? I know of a few other companies doing social proof notifications on website to drive conversations now. What's the problem with those? What do you know that they don't?
      3. Nice to see you have pricing plans too. Do you have paid customers already? What's their feedback been like?

      Hope this helps.

Hi @rrttalv Thank you for visiting our website and providing feedback.
I have checked yours and here are some of my points:
There are words/phrases that seem to be jargons for me and some parts that are a bit confusing

upsell and cross-sell - the description is a bit vague for me or if the description really defines upselling and cross selling
stream actions - at first I didn't understand what you mean but when I looked at the photo, I had an idea what you want to tell which is to put a sense of urgency by saying that the products are in demand and are scarce.
FOMO- your customers might not know what FOMO means
Want specific use cases? - I think this phrase doesn't really convey what you want to say. Although I like the samples you presented. Maybe you just need to rephrase the headline

In general, I like the photos you are showing in the page as it helped me to understand what you are trying to say. There are instances that I directly read the description but I have to check the photos for me to understand. Maybe because I'm visiting the site as a reviewer and not as a customer. But I guess if you'll check the photo first then read the description, the flow of information is better.

      Hope these help.
