Let's talk about your website that's NOT a SaaS or website that other IH might use.
I know I can't be the only one who thinks that most of the posts on here seem to be self serving.
It would be refreshing to read about other types of websites people have been working on recently or over the last few years that other IH users might not have a use or interest in.
I won’t lie when, I joined this community it occurred to me that it would be easy to build a product for Indie Hackers, since the audience is already built into the forum. The proverbial shovel salesman for those looking for gold. I successfully resisted that urge, and I’m now building a website in the real estate education space. I plan on posting at some point with a breakdown of the process, but agreed, posting about a product for Indie Hackers on a forum devoted to Indie Hackers could be seen as self-serving. On the other hand, if there’s truly a product someone’s building, that would make all of us other builders lives easier, I’d want to know about it, but it it’s a really difficult balance to strike.
Personally I have been running mostly Amazon affiliate type websites in the tech niche over the last 10 years.
I started out in the early 2000's running city websites earning revenue through pay per click ads like Adsense or manually placed banner ads.
Since then I have had all kinds of websites: mp3 download, meme creators, real estate, classifieds, message boards and a variety of other types of sites.
