Let's tool your MVP without code - what's your idea?

I get a ton of DMs about how to 'get live' with an idea, and this community feels full of people at the beginning of their journey, so I thought it'd be fun to offer a bit of a 'feedback' round on how I'd get your idea going without building something custom-coded.

So what's the idea you've been on the fence on? I'll quickly offer some ideas on how I'd get something live to test the underlying premise and get useful data for moving forward.

Go!

I have built a social network realtime geoloaction web app. I tried to use bubble.is for the project: https://news365.app

Ha, first one's a tough one, in that 'realtime geolocation social network' is pretty broad. What is it that you're trying to learn / determine is valuable? Why do you think this should exist / what unique problem is it you're trying to solve?

I can offer that my bet is Bubble is a strong choice. However, without knowing the 'why' of this I can't really suggest any other ideas/hacks I might try to get to the root of customer development.

Funny, I built something similar a few years back. Particularly relevant to this topic because I burned hours building a custom solution and eventually burned myself out and shelved it.

I'm a far more experienced developer now, but I would still opt for no- or low-code solutions where possible for an MVP.

It was because of the burnout risk that I opted to build it with a no-code solution.

Yea, I wish someone could have warned me. But then again, back then there were no good solutions for no-code builds.

Internet Privacy Simulator - I made the prototype version https://darkplaceguy.itch.io/privasim and pouring everything to marketing right now to get early adopters.

Interesting! Seems like you've got your MVP coded already?

      1. 1

yep, marketing is the hardest part right now.

Heh, many have tried! Presumably the key learning is backtesting your algo? Lots of tools for that (https://hackernoon.com/9-great-tools-for-algo-trading-e0938a6856cd) + I've heard good things about Gekko (https://gekko.wizb.it/).

Consume email receipts/invoices to keep track of recurring software expenses.

Different than current tools? What would you be looking to learn/prove out? Just wondering best way to determine that your approach is worth pursuing against the bookkeeping, software expense trackers or expense tracking solutions on the market.

      1. 1

Just the approach, perhaps, would be different. I have an email folder full of payment confirmations, which include a lot of data (what for, how much, when). I don’t use manual input options, because I would fail.
