Let's trade feedback!

TWO CENTS: www.twocents.mondaymatters.co

Gimme your thoughts, drop a link to your landing page, and I'll give you my two cents on yours!

  1. Is it clear what the product is and who it is for?
  2. If you think you are part of the target audience, do you find it compelling?
  3. Finally, any copy suggestions? It's not my strong point.

Looking forward to seeing what y'all are building

Hi Iris thanks for putting this together - I would love to hear what the folks think about this business my gf and I built - any advice on copy and landing page much appreciated: https://buyfunnyaprons.com/

As for your website: i think you should have a short video outlining what your product does and actually feature yourself! I find that buyers like it when they can associate a product to the founders!

      Thanks for the idea!

Haha, your idea is funny. I like it, I know a few people who would send these as gag jokes. I didn't realize until scrolling down to "How Customization Works" that these were customizable. At first glance, I thought they were just random animal patterns. The customization is a big draw so make sure that's obvious up front!

This copy "Students pay upfront and you get paid automatically after completing tasks." can be improved. I think artists, creators is a better word than students here. "Students" makes it sound like an ed-tech app.

Also, there is room to make this copy even more effective. You can say something like "Get paid within 2 days after completing a feedback task.

Thank you for your feedback! Heard it a couple times now, so I'll reconsider using "student" here.

      Bookmocks:

      • I opened the page and instantly got a calm clarity feeling. Love the Japanese zen aesthetic. The font looks a bit too similar to Times New Roman to me, which kind of threw me off. It reminds me of academic papers? You might want to choose something that feels more literary
      • Instead of Get Started, I may be more inclined to try if it said "Start Designing". (At first, I thought "Get Started" would redirect me to a sign up page, and was pleasantly surprised to be previewing the design choices instead)

There may be a judge a book by its cover pun in there somewhere haha.

        Thanks a lot Iris0

    HI Iris0,
It is very clear to me what the product is and who it is for.
I am not part of the target audience but I find it compelling.
The design needs to be refined.
Also, I don't really get how the price is set: is it fixed, do we negotiate? how I am guaranteed to be paid after work.

Thanks for the feedback, those are good points.

      For Data Variation:

      • First impression: It took me a while after reading the top section to understand what the product is. But once I read "You make a request in the English language, Datavariation converts it into machine language..." it became clear.

Here are some ideas I had:
FIRST LINE: "We give everyone the power to analyze data."
SECOND LINE: "Datavision translates natural English commands into SQL, saving you time and making your organization's decisions stronger by giving everyone access to traditional data analysis tools"

      Hope this helps!

    Just a quick mockup https://i.ibb.co/TtjqpmS/Feedback.png

The website is clear, my feedback isn't going to be super detailed but it has to do with design. Be it typography, shadows, etc. Lots of things that can be improved, but I think it gets the point across and that's good enough :)

Thanks for taking a look! Unfortunately the link isn't working for me

This looks great, thanks for taking a stab at it! It looks more modern in a way I can't put my finger on. Guess that's why you hire a designer!

    1. I think your website is very clear. The only thing that is not clear is what kind of creative professionals you're looking for. I can see the music example, but I don't know what other fields are applicable.
    2. I am not the target audience.
    3. Comments/questions:

"Help people learn what you do best." is kind of awkward. The following sentence is better: "Make money by giving feedback to emerging artists and hobbyists."
Maybe you could combine the two: "Get paid for sharing your exertise with emerging artists."

Hobbyist is also a weird target market. "Emerging artists" makes sense... people who are trying to build a project or career. I can see why these people would pay for feedback. But why hobbyists? These are people who are doing things for fun, usually for personal enjoyment and not seriously.

    "1. Create your offerings.
List on the platform for free. We match you with students from all over the world."
I don't know what "offering" means. Is this for feedback givers or receivers? Also, "students" is weird. Are you targeting people in school? That would be a surprise. I thought this was targeting professional artists, and now it sounds like you're targeting students.

"Build your reputation as a pro instructor with your own Two Cents page."
Instructor sounds like teacher, like someone teaching a class. I think you mean "advisor" or "expert".

Also I know why you chose the name "Two Cents" but I'm concerned it makes the offering seem cheap. I know you don't litereally mean $0.02, but it makes me feel like I'm not going to make much money for my expert feedback.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hey Steven, thanks for the detailed response! Greatly appreciated. I'll play around with some of the copy suggestions. Validating whether this would be used more by hobbyists or people early in a creative career is really good point.

Thanks for pointing out the page width issues, this is very helpful! I'll think about doing a video.
