I had no idea this was a thing until this week. I was testing the emails for a project, and what I saw on the iOS Gmail app was, to say the least, ugly. This added a whole new problem, as the dark mode is also inconsistent among email clients. For example, Gmail inverted all colors, while Outlook only inverted the colors of some texts and buttons.
