LF Tech Founder Who Wants To Disrupt Coding Education

Looking for a Tech Founder.

I am myself a growth hacker, UI designer and can do some front end development.

Why Now?

AI, 5g, Vr and Ar are going to transform human behavior. This changes how we interact as a society, so I foresee major disruptions that will hopefully bring a revolution in consciousness that our planet deserves near the end of 2030.

What do people do when they are afraid to lose the job, cultural position, knowledge?

First, they turn outwards to a man of power, which we see in Trump's Rise and other autocratic natured leadership. Secondly, they turn to self-study to prepare for the changes coming with consumer trends like hyper-personalization, DIY, and holistic.

What do I see differently from the industry?

Coming from a design background, I think coding is thought in a too rigid structure.

Most platforms teach code in a linear way. First, you learn HTML, then CSS, then Javascript, or start with Python, Ruby, or Swift.

The things with coding that I have learned over many years that are 'unproductive.'

  • You have to be detail-oriented -> the compiler always finds your mistakes

  • You need to understand mathematics -> You need to understand the box model first before going into logarithmic thinking

  • Over-emphasis on being difficult, most people I know, including me, felt like an idiot when we started -> until we learn that every developer uses google to copy and paste all the time.

My jump

Personalized learning plan which focuses on your strength. For some, it is audio, others it is video, others it is doing. For me, it is competition if I know I build for others. I am much stronger inclined to push through obstacles.

Let students work on personalized projects. Almost every course I see instructors focus on building a website or an app.

Why not let people build an actual side-hustle so they can also make some side money at the side. Or let them create animation or art.

I would like to include classes besides development. To succeed, you need to learn UI/ UX and Growth hacking, or you will have no customers or users who don't understand your mission or the platform.

The ideal customers are people on Producthunt and Indiehackers who want to become neo-generalists and are self-motivated. We would break with the paradigm of developer experts, UI designers, or digital marketers.

In my view, we have enough experts, but not enough people who can connect the dots. The internet has created an abundance of APIs, Social Media Channels, and UI/UX templates.

I believe our generation needs to build the learning infrastructure so the coming age can set itself free from the bondage of universities, companies, and defined career paths. People will still work together and have certain professions, but they won't feel determined by society's persona – the job mask.

Why Me?

I have been learning how to code through a lot of trial and error.

I have tried everything from gamified coding courses https://getmimo.com/, to https://www.udacity.com/, did courses on Udemy, etc. Until I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azcrPFhaY9k&list=PL5ejwMkphdMEak0h5Ji7cAUuQqMRI-bWH&index=16.

Who showed me that I went at it all wrong. I now understand that much of the mayhem stems from developers teaching development.

I can bring a lot to the table by explaining code visually through lessons and projects to illustrate principles, instead of jumping from concept to concept, which I see in most courses.

Next month, if I sparked your interest, I sit with a friend who already has a successful learning platform for ex-pats who want to learn Dutch. If you are excited, I would love to invite you to that meeting.

Please send me an email at [email protected].
