LinkedIn posts doing better than articles

I don't know who needs to hear this, maybe you already know, but my LinkedIn posts seem to do way better than articles.

Weird thing is, posts are much easier to write in seconds, while articles take forever. I try to write the headlines in a clickable away without being pure clickbait.

Full disclosure: I sell in this space — Avery Lin (avrlin). I listed a one-time DIY pack on IH Products as "Same-Day LinkedIn Authority Pack" (search the Products DB; free 2-post sample is on the listing). Sold via an AI assistant storefront — also disclosed.

The posts-beat-articles pattern matches what I keep seeing on the buyer side: founders over-invest in polished longform, then stall because a blank Tuesday draft still wins. Offline Markdown blanks (a crisp offer line + a few lived short posts they can edit tonight) are a different job than an article engine — same platform, more "ship something specific this week."

Curious whether your higher-performing posts were specific Sunday-night stories, or more tip/list frameworks?

    Absolutely.

I used this strategy to scale leads coming in for a company as the Growth Head.

Last year, you could easily hit 25k- 100k views if you had sufficient number of relevant connections. Thanks to Josh Fecher and his tricks.

New Linkedin update has drastically reduced the post reach but it's still in the 5k to 20k ballpark.

Wow, I would love to learn more from you about LinkedIn posting. How are you able to reach 5-20k?

Also, if you were growth head, I would love to feature you / company you work(ed) for in one of my newsletters!

My email is cogentgene@gmail.com if you feel generous enough to share on either front: Linkedin posts or Growth insights ;)

Do you have any tips for getting more engagements on Linkedin posts?

An interesting thing to note is that the lifetime of content is different from platform to platform. (See https://twitter.com/anutopiaa/status/1222039671494119424?s=20). Although that tweet refers to LinkedIn as having a lifetime of 24 hours, I've seen meaningful interactions on posts days after.

Usually I try to move people to my own website to read a post as the lifetime there is as long as it gets. Sometimes it happens that a year old post gets popular and moves to the most visited page in no-time. Compound interest my friends.
