List and share your favourite places, discover other people's favourites.

Name: Bimble
URL: https://www.bimblehq.com

hello everyone,

we've built a web app to help people share their favourite things to do in the neighbourhoods they love. our ambition is to develop a worldwide bank of community-driven place information that others can use to discover the best parts of any neighbourhood, anywhere.

as a network built on user-generated content, our MVP is principally focused on enabling users to 'create' (i.e. list and share their favourite places). as we amass more UGC, we plan to introduce more discover/search functionality (as and when we gain a critical volume of content for a given city).

if anyone has a few minutes spare, we would love to hear people’s thoughts and suggestions about the product: https://www.bimblehq.com

thanks in advance,

ben

Hey @rufrudrej nice idea and a clean easy to understand website.

It's great to have the ambition but my concern is that you are maybe generalising far too early making it tough to gain critical mass sooner than later.

Also, it would be great to list the benefits to users for creating lists. The platform depends on the number of lists created by users so rather than marketing/showing the search/explore feature (which Yelp, Foursquare already do), it might be better to market the platform as a list creator for users who can easily share with their friends/colleagues.

For example, if a user recently visited Lake District for the weekend, the user could create the list of things to do/places to visit and put up a Facebook post saying "Hey folks, my friends and I visited Lake District during the weekend, I've created a list of places to visit/see if you decide to visit the place in the future".

It could be great for travellers who wish to compile their travel trip and share it with their social friends.

Just an idea from me :)

Nice! How do you make money?

I've seen a lot of people try this idea and all have failed so far. What makes you different?

Is there anything in particular you're struggling with and could use advice/feedback on?

    Good luck!

      hey Louis,

we'd appreciate feedback in any form! have you tried creating and publishing a list? If so, what did you think of the process? have you had a look at our Explore feature too? any insights are super helpful!

as a network built on user-generated content, our MVP is principally focused on enabling users to 'create' (i.e. list and share their favourite places). this needs to be insanely easy and quick. then, as we amass more UGC, we plan to introduce more discover/search functionality (as and when we gain a critical volume of content for a given city). this will be our principal value proposition.

principal routes to monetisation are: a freemium place page that businesses can claim/customise (PaaS), commissions via bookings on the place page, and ads.
