Local SEO has a surprising impact on your business

Even though we're not technically doing a local SEO strategy for our website, Instant Logo Design, I do think it's one of the many reasons why there's a bit shift in the local strategy, and why some SEO Specialists are mastering local audience as well.
It's no surprise that "nearly 50% of all Google searches are made by people looking for local products and services." In fact, I thought the percentage would be higher, and shouldn't be underestimated. There are hundreds or even thousands of several brands that aren't efficiently using digital marketing, nor do they have any idea about local SEO at all, and they're missing all the good stuff (and revenue!)
Some of the most successful SEOs out there only do local. The strategies are similar for each biz and they have thousands of businesses to travel. SEO for a bakery in NYC wouldn't be that different than SEO for a bakery in LA.
Curious what are your result so far in local SEO though.
I was actually referring to those websites that targets international clients - those that isn't part of the scope of Local SEO :)
But if you're targeting mainly your area, like you said bakery "in a specific area," then implement LOCAL SEO tactics. For us, we do target international clients.
We target international clients and do local seo and get ton of clients from local map listings in other counties when people search for he service name plus the country we appear. Local also bolsters your authority for normal organic rankings. Even if your not a local business do local gmb anyway for better overall results it’s easy
That's great! Yeah, we're just starting out with our GMB as well, and we'll definitely look at some Local SEO strategies to do. Thanks for the tip!
this looks interesting, but how do you optimize for local SEO? can you add some tag or smth?
Get a google my business listing, set it up properly and get citations as in directory links with your addres name and phone number the basic stuff is very easy and the benefit vs effort is good even for non locals business
I wish there were some examples of what Local SEO looks like in 2022 - o well!

Yeah, this is unfortunately true. I think it means people that pay the most are often the most relevant. Obviously, Google tries to account for this, but if you can pay the big bucks you're going to beat out the little guys. Period.
It means that for most growing companies, sales, marketing and content has to be thought of together as a cohesive strategy.
"Nearly 50% of all Google searches are made by people looking for local products and services."
This really surprised me. I think it's easy to forget that local businesses can still have an edge in what is made to feel like a very online world. It does, however, depend on what type of business you have. For certain products and services, location won't be something some buyers even consider.
Local map listings Convert crazy, 5 times better, just a tiny bit of traffic is all you need. 2 percent of our traffic is local map listings which account for 40 percent of revenue
Sounds like this is great for those with a physical location but what about those building a business online? Looks like we're still stuck with low online visibility due to high competition. That's my experience, anyway. Interested to hear what other IndieHackers' SEO strategies are who don't have a specific geographical location for their business.
Any online business has a physical location, your house etc. you can still do a local map google my business listing without publishing your address publicly and benefit from it fully
