Hello! My name is Roman Smolkov! I'm an entrepreneur.
I started my way many years ago, serving in the Israeli army has already made various attempts at entrepreneurship. After serving in the army, I came to Russia, where I was engaged in network marketing. I traveled to many cities in Russia and Kazakhstan.
I realized that the main driver of development is the ability to communicate with people. A skill that opens doors to different opportunities. For this skills I will always be grateful to my parents and military service that I have been serving for 3 years. I served in the Israeli penal colony, first as a commander, and for the last 1.5 years as a sergeant.
During the last 3 years of service, especially the last 1.5 years, there were hundreds of different conflict situations, where I had to momentary make a decision, leaving my emotions aside.
Service in a disciplinary cell is different from the one in regular military unit because in your responsibility there are from 1 to 25 lives of people who tried in every possible way to complicate your life. All of these you had to do in order to get a so-called "military ticket".
They tried to commit suicide by hanging themselves, cutting themselves, starving. They fought with each other, made provocations, spit in your face, tried to burn themselves, could attack you at any moment, etc.
And the most important thing was that you should have reacted calmly and used force only if it was applied to you.
Besides, to use force was not welcomed by the top management. It was required of the servants to be able to settle the conflict through dialogue, especially when the situation got aggravated.
I can confidently say that all the literature I started to read at the age of 13 helped me to get the same experience of stress resistance as in the army: a sober view of the situation, the ability to solve conflict situations by the distribution of forces, people, energy.
The same experience helps me to move forward in business, to develop, to communicate, to find solutions where they seem to be absent at first glance.
As the great Steve Jobs said in one of his speeches:
Again, you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
Now, looking back, I can connect all my projects in medicine, dentistry, that InConnections project for international networking is the one with which I can contribute to the world community.
The InConnections application is now available in 7 languages, with around 5000 users from dozens of countries. And this is just the beginning.
