Looking for a "co-solo-founder"

I'm not looking for a co-founder :)

But I'd love to connect with a fellow solo indie hacker who's serious about shipping. Hoping to find someone who's on the same page / working within the same constraints who'd be willing to just stay in touch and keep each other updated and accountable on each others progress.

It would be kind of like a "mastermind" but just 1-1 and much more low-key.

Who I am

10+ years of professional engineering experience (Full stack, nowadays focused on front-end). I am also a decent UI designer and generally cobble together some pretty good user experiences / flows.

I've ready too many business books / listened to too many business podcasts (including indie hackers). My favorite business books are: Company of One by Paul Jarvis, Drive by Daniel Pink and Traction by Gabriel Weinberg & Justin Mares.

I am the father of 2 young girls (2 and 5) and I work a pretty busy (but fulfilling) full time job at a software company that's going public this year.

I may or may not be a dogecoin millionaire (my old dead phone with the wallet on it is currently being looked at by some folks at DriveSavers).

I have a tendency to use too many parenthesis when I write and always have to edit them out later (although this time I won't bother).

What I'm working on.

I've (really) gotten into vermicomposting during the pandemic and have been chipping away at building a marketplace and (eventually) e-commerce platform for worms and worm related products since the beginning of 2021. I'm pretty close to launching an MVP (a few weeks away working at a slow but sustainable pace and making constant progress).

The ask

If you're into this idea of connecting and co-journey-ing, I'd love to hear from you. I think it'd be fun to pair up with another engineer but if that's not you then that's not a total deal breaker either!

Post a comment below with a little background about yourself and what you're working on (or just link to your indie hackers profile if you've already filled that out!). We could schedule an initial chat and decide if it's a good fit.

Looking forward to chat!

Thanks a lot for posting and for sharing your journey! The latter sounds awesome and I'm absolutely down to have a chat.

I'm a German software developer in his early twenties. I started programming when I was 10 and built a lot of projects along the way. When I was 17, I was maintaining some of the core applications that shipped by default on every Ubuntu Phone. Canonical even offered to fly me to Washington to help them build the OS in person.

Since then, I've done lots of web development. I started a business where I built a website editor from scratch. The business failed but lots of lessons learned.

Afterwards, I got a job as a developer again, gained a ton of knowledge, and quit at the end of last year to work on my own software again.

Currently, I'm building the MVP of a niche video editing software. This time I made sure to take care of all the non-technical things before I even wrote a single line of code and it seems to be paying off. I hope to have a working MVP by the middle of April.

At the moment, I'm really busy with building but you seem like a really cool person, so I'd be happy to make some time. Just send me an email through the address on my profile and suggest a few time slots for a call. I'm in the CEST time zone.

    Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi, @nomdeplume. I'd be interested in connecting. My email address is in my profile.

My primary occupation is as an independent software consultant. Meanwhile, I'm scaling up my personal garden/homestead while also incubating some software projects to help people grow their own food. If nothing else, I'd be very interested to have a chat about compost!

Good luck! (i also have the habit of using parenthesis, trying to stop but isn't easy)

    What do you call 2 co-solo-founders? 🤔

      Duo-co-solo-founders.
