Looking for a Cofounder / Web Dev for $7000/month CS Education Platform

Hey everyone!

My name is YK, and I started a programming education YouTube channel called CS Dojo (https://www.csdojo.io/) about two years ago.

Today, it has 300,000+ subscribers with over a million views per month, and the revenue is about $7000 USD / month. About half of it comes from YouTube ads, and the other half is from my video courses on Udemy, Lynda.com and Pluralsight.

The final vision for CS Dojo is sort of like, the Indie Hackers-like community for people who are learning programming + a first-rate content company like Udacity and Buzzfeed + an online video education platform like Udemy.

That's a lot, but for the past two years, I've been exclusively working on content.

And now, I'm looking to find a cofounder to help me build the community website.

I'm looking for a strong dev with a sense of empathy and humility. A strong sense of design would be a huge plus, as well.

I'm not sure where the company will be located in the future, but right now, I'm located in Vancouver, Canada.

Would you be interested in something like this, or do you know anyone who might be? If so, please let me know at yksu@csdojo.io!

Hi! I would be to ask you about your YouTube channel? Are people still interesting in learn coding via YouTube or video courses? How are you promote your channel? Because 2-3 years ago, I had channel with lessons on Web-development and few were interested in such content. Thanks!

Yeah! People are interested in learning coding on YouTube.

All you need on YouTube is basically:

      • Good content people want to watch
      • Good thumbnail images
      • Good video titles

If you have all of those, you should be able to grow your channel quickly.

If you still want to do it, I would suggest you start by asking a question to your potential audience.

For example, you could make a new thread on IH and say something like, "Is there anything you're wondering about web development?", or, "What do you find to be the most challenging part about learning web dev?"

How has your experience been with udemy? Is all of your traffic generated through your youtube links to your course, or Is it mostly throught udemy discovery? Ive heard various things from friends who tried it.

@yksu Congrats on the success! After two years of working on your content, it's well deserved.

I've sent you an e-mail to get in touch, so don't forget to check your spam folder as it's from a custom domain.
