Hey guys, I just designed a UX / conversion checklist extension that I would like to develop into a fully functional Chrome extension. I thought I would hit up this community to see if anyone is interested in perhaps working on it with me (for me) in exchange for having a link for self-promotion. I figured it would be a win-win for anyone who wants to promote a service / tool or whatever you have going on.
Here is a link for the full design: https://www.figma.com/file/meXQvgGto4kXr023rkd6qz/Conversion-UX-Checklist?node-id=0%3A1
Let me know what you think, whether you are interested. I will probably get this developed one way or another, but thought I'd ask the Indiehackers community first.
You're expecting someone to make you a Chrome extension for free, and in exchange this person can place a link to his own business in the Chrome extension he just made you for free?
I think you should re-evaluate your expectations, this isn't how the world works I'm afraid
Successful people don't keep scores of everything.
I don't see why not. I plan on doing the marketing for it. Isn't that how partnerships work? You work towards a mutually beneficial goal with each person(s) contributing in ways they know best?
No, partnership do not work like that. Both gets the same benefits, a bit less a bit more different. But that deal is an insult, let me tell you.
You can't compare a developers knowledge with a link that might or might not work.
The only way I would accept this is getting a 20% or 30% of the benefits made through the extension. For life.
why 20 or 30% when I am offering 50% benefits for life of extension that I will myself update... hence in requirement showing me how to update content...
That's not mentioned...
Fair point. It was in my head, but never made it on the screen lol. This is a free extension that would be used to self-promote 2 people. I don't plan on charging for it -- just a way to get the word out about whatever else you're working on. That and I want to use it for my projects! (and will share with everyone here so hopefully people use it on theirs!)
lol?
Update: Extension has been created!! Testing now and adding some data. Will be available soon! Let me know if you want to be notified when it's out.
Hello!
I can help you with further development!
I have chrome ext experience
Sorry, I am trying to understand how it will work. Most importantly, where do you want to store the data / to-dos? Locally on user computer or in the cloud?
Hey Mac, someone took me up on the offer already and we have v1 going up soon. To answer your question - data is stored locally per domain. I'll let you know if something doesn't work out and if you're still interested (assuming you are). Let's keep in touch anyway, hit me up on twitter via my profile.
I can develop the Chrome Extension, but need more info of the funtionalities do you want. if is something simple as the image you share, I can do it.
Allan, I may have v1 going up already as someone took me up on the offer, we are just working out details. Nevertheless let's stay in touch on Twitter (find my via my profile).
I have outlined them in the linked Figma file. Let me know if something is still not clear.
I am creating a state management pattern that is ideal for applications of this type, and might be able to help. I have a few questions however.
When adding a new item, how would one decide what category it belongs to? Should one be able to drag and drop items from the lists to reorder/change category?
New items would just be uncategorized at the top of the list.
