I want to upload a spreadsheet through an API and update it every week. But I won't pay for the full G Suite just for that. Does any of you know of an alternative?
Thank you
I think you can do that for free without paying for g suite.
yeah you get access to google drive via your free gmail account
I guess I'll need to research a little more. For the meantime I uploaded the file to dropbox and shared the link
What about Airtable?
You could try hosting a nextcloud instance & onlyoffice document server. both open source solutions
I'll take a look to this approach. Right now I'm uploading my spreadsheet to Dropbox and sharing the link. Thank you!
This is what I do. Pretty happy with it.
Once tried Zoho, but did not like it. Therefore, you also have to work with what you have, although not for free.
when you say spreadsheet through an API, does this mean you already have an existing spreadsheet or data? And when you say update it every week, does that mean there's external updates or you want to manually go in to a relational table and edit cells?
You can use google scripts to deploy a web app much like a server. create your own api with a doPost and doGet functions.
Hey, yeah I wanted to write/update a spreadsheet with data from my db every week and share that spreadsheet. I managed to do it with dropbox for the meantime while I keep researching
Hitsnag.com will eventually do that through an email shortcut (to any spreadsheet platform too)! Sign up on the waitlist here 👉 https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/hitsnag
You do not need full gsuite for this. I would recommend microsoft flow, but they are also paid unless you are a non-profit.
Got it. thank you for responding. I managed to push the file to dropbox and share the link.
Hey, you can try https://retable.io
It has a generous storage and usage limits with public spreadsheet view.
Not sure about your use-case, but you can use our google sheets add-on KPIBees (https://gsuite.google.com/marketplace/app/kpibees/623897559595) for google sheet imports. It has a free version with up to 30 query credits monthly (for JSON apis this roughly means 30 queries).
I'm using a spreadsheet as a hook to get people subscribed to my newsletter and I'm feeding that spreadsheet with data from my DB that is updated every week. Right now I managed to upload it to Dropbox and share the link

Yeah, the thing is that I currently have my business email with another provider and I don't really want to move it to google. For the meantime managed to upload the spreadsheet to dropbox and share the link
$6 per month 💸
