Hello IH ๐๐ป,
Iโm reaching out today about my mother. She needs some ideas on how to keep her brain active as she enters this new phase in her life. She is a successful entrepreneur and a great woman so I felt like posting this here would reach the right people ๐
Hereโs a brief summary on her and her expertise:
- she is one of the most hardworking persons I have met so far
- studied to be a doctor and went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry where she worked for well known companies
- built a pharmaceutical studies business - CRO - that started in Portugal, expanded to several countries in Europe and South America, and after ~20 years got acquired by a US company where she is now employed at and ready to retire
- she is a very caring person and I feel like the connection she establishes with people is always meaningful and very altruistic. In my case, besides being an awesome mother, she is like a mentor and I know I can reach out for great advice whenever I face important conversations or steps in my career/life (even though Iโm in tech)
- she knows how to write, likes dealing with numbers/contracts and speaks portuguese, english, spanish and french fluently
- has a much smaller social life than she used to (even though she is the most amazing person I know and feel like she would like to regain some of that)
- 2 children, 4 grand children and 5th on the way
- she likes knitting, reading, learning about history and art and traveling (even though she is starting to get a bit lazy and thinks she is actually older than she is โ 64)
Let me know if you have any ideas of how her next step should look like ๐
Thanks in advance,
My first thought is how sweet of you to post this. ๐ฅฐ
My first thought is - can she write about something? Start a blog on a topic she loves? It's a great way to learn the basics of how to publish on the web and it can lead to other opportunities further down the line.
PS - she should join one of our Indie Women meetups.
I agree with @rosiesherry's comment about having her write a blog about her experiences. Maybe eventually turn that into a book ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Another option would be a podcast.. can't have enough of them ๐
She would probably have an interesting and unique perspective if she were to interview other entrepreneurs. Should be fun for her too since it's more social than writing solo.
Just my 2 cents
