Looking for a No-Code Developer Cofounder (Equity)

We’re living in some odd times to say the least, but 2021 is looking positive. I’m hoping this year to connect with a No-Code Developer interested in becoming a cofounder.

I’ve been designing/working with various clients within the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) space for 10+ years. During this time is how I found a Niche Market and identified the Pain Points these independent business owners are experiencing. The product I'm building solves their PAIN POINTS while adding DESIGN VALUE to their Digital Menu Boards needs.

  • I have 15+ years of experience as a self-employed designer, 10 yrs of which as a web designer (UX/UI). 20+ years in the design field.
  • Project has paid market research (slightly altered due to the pandemic).
  • Project has a proven market fit!
  • A product that Solves Various Customers' Pain-Points for a niche market which is under serviced.
  • Planned Inbound marketing strategy.
  • Plus, I have been designing for this niche market the past 8+ years. I know from firsthand experience dealing with these restaurant owners.

After some research I settled on using a No-Code approach for development. After researching which platforms can handle the requirements, I’m sold on using on Bubble.io/features/. My approach is NOT to start from scratch, rather utilize a well-established Open Source Digital Signage CMS as the backend where all the heavy lifting has been proven successful and to create a front-end with Bubble using the Open Source API’s.

If you are looking for a part-time project:

  • B2B SaaS model that has great profit potential for a couple of cofounders.
  • Interested in a No-Code approach.
  • Willing to commit 5-8 hours per week.
  • Understand it’s not a sprint rather a marathon approach.
  • Appreciate/Respect each other’s strengths and what we bring to the table for the project to be a success.
  • Understands the difference between Product Led Growth and MVP go to market strategies.
  • Wants to create a company that will employ both cofounders full-time while the company remains profitable.

Reach out to me. You can find my email on my profile page.

Let’s conversation and I can share more details.

Hi Jon. I'm unsure if hiring a no-code COFOUNDER is the right idea. I think based on your credentials you can easily do it yourself. You'll eventually have to scale and rebuild the product from scratch and when that happens, your no-code co-founder will be obsolete.

Hi Jerome, thanks for taking to the time to read my post and more importantly for the vote of confidence commenting I should be able to complete this project myself. Perhaps you're right, but there is a great deal of marketing and product design to be done and working on this part-time as a solo entrepreneur it will take much longer.

Since I'm targeting an established niche market and having paid research for the market size I realize the maximum amount that can be captured as paying subscribers (I also have an education in advertising). Curious, without knowing the full business model details, why do you think No-Code (Bubble.io/features/) cannot handle the scale? I feel confident it will.

If you like to further discuss the project I welcome the opportunity, please email me. My address is within my profile. Thanks again for your feedback.

Wishing you and everyone a Safe, Prosperous, and Happy New Year!

I'm not saying that you shouldn't find a partner, what I'm saying is that finding a no-code partner is not the right way to go.

Platforms like Bubble can scale up to a point, that's why it's such a great bootstrapping platform. Tons of companies start this way, but when you scale you will inevitably have to rebuilt it from the ground up (also, investors will most likely require it). Comet, one of the startups featured in Bubble, is a platform I'm familiar with (we were part of the same accelerator). From what I know, they eventually had to rebuild it from scratch (I don't know their exact stack but it's JS based and runs on AWS).

Of course, I'm running on the assumption that you eventually want to raise funding later on and really scale outside of this "niche".

I understand your point of view. If I envision this product growing outside of this "niche market" and expanding a subscriber base that Bubble could not handle, then I agree with you.

However, this niche market I'm targeting would potentially reach around 1,000 subscribers (that's .01% of the market) having a LTV of 14 months average subscription of $75.00 USD per month. I say this confidently because this is an established market with the pricing already accepted.

For a couple of bootstrapping cofounders with no interest in finding investors, I say the potential profit would satisfy our interests. I understand many others may want something more, but I'm in the mindset of The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss and I'm hoping my cofounder is too.

For others who are reading, Jerome, would you agree Bubble.io could easily handle that amount of subscribers for one web app?

I can't say without knowing the functionality of the product you specifically have in mind.

I think you have a bigger problem at hand and that is convincing someone to join you for such a small market with no explicit ambitions to expand outside of this niche you're mentioning.

My ultimate suggestion is to just hire a freelancer to do it for you given that you seem to look at it as a lifestyle business more than anything else.

            Goodluck!

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your time and feedback. I will agree with you, it is a lifestyle business (that potentially could pay well) than growing something into an investment opportunity.

If you boil things down, I see your point of hiring a freelancer : ) Best of luck with your endeavors too!
