Looking for a partner to do market research and promote project

Hi,

I have an idea for an app for community participated research. Some time ago I made a POC for it, and now I'm looking to take it further. At a high level it comes down to an app where you can start a research project, which can be public or invite only, where you can ask a community to help collect the data.

Imagine for example wildlife counting programs, where you'd ask the community to make a picture of the animal they see and include the location where they saw it. The research lead can then see the data in a web portal and export it for analyses. This can be applied to a range of topics I believe.

I know that for example national bird counting programs have build their own app for this purpose. They often look outdated and not very appealing to participants. These would be potential customers.

Revenue will come from the fee of running a project, where the price could be based on number of participants, number of datapoints collected, time the projects runs, etc. There would also be a possibility to offer a whitelabel solution.

I'm looking for someone that can explore the market for such an app, and can also follow up with reaching out to potential customers as I know that's not where my strengths lie.

I'm curious to know what you all think and welcome any feedback. If you're interested, leave a comment!

Hey Ben , Interesting idea to build an underlying service for this kind of stuff. If you haven't already, check out the Merlin app (https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/) its a bird identification app from the Cornell Ornithology lab. I love it and its beautiful but also it very much shows the power of harnessing a community to collect data while offering them a service to do so.
