Greetings, this is Bala here, I am the CEO and Founder of a tech startup based in Dubai,
My startup is related to movie industry, I am planning to build a unified movie discovery and recommender platform, we are building a solution that addresses a problem affecting millions of people, our platform will be both web and mobile-based.
My business idea is already proven successful by two players in the market who are having 25 million users and making profits, but I will be offering more features than them.
Brief Overview
There are too many OTT platforms for the users to choose, US alone has almost 200 OTT platforms, an average user in US is having account in 5 to 7 OTT platforms, situation is same in most of the countries, people are struggling to find the exact OTT platform on which a particular movie is playing.
Each OTT platform is offering so many titles so users are facing challenges choosing which movie to watch because there is too much choice, also in which theatres it is playing on a particular day etc, so keeping in mind all these challenges that the users are facing we are building a platform which will address all these challenges, my unified movie discovery and recommender platform will have the following 3 key features in it.
Streaming availability - this feature provides unified guide to all the streaming services(OTT platforms) available in the user's respective country.
Personalised movie / TV show recommendations.
Showtimes - this feature will help users locate which movie is playing in which theatres on a particular day in their respective town or city.
Product is under development and the beta version will be launched soon in few weeks, I am looking for funding and also a Cofounder to work with me, brainstorm ideas, and who will help me to take the startup to the next level, if you are interested please let me know, we will discuss further, i have a pitch deck and 5 year financials ready with me.
