Do you know any saas that would allow me to create a feedback form, popup or something like that, and embed it into my website? Any recommendations?
Also, important question. Do you think this form of gathering feedback would be useful?
Oh man, I literally just built a tool for this haha. Feel free to check it out - https://UseHoney.io
Would love to hear what you think, or if it doesn’t have the features you’re looking for, I would love to hear what those features are!
Hey, this looks cool. By looking at the landing page, I can't tell if "would you suggest this to others?" is the only thing you can ask users. Is it?
Ah - there's a whole settings section to play with that isn't visible on mobile. Still, something to point out to mobile users. Looks great though!
Ahh yea I know I'm still trying to figure out what the best approach would be to handle showing the builder for mobile. Thanks for the feedback!
Absolutely very useful to gather feedback, and if possible, while users are using your app. For example, you could try to analyze bounce rates, conversion rates, time on page, and how many users are getting through your funnel to try to figure out if your UX needs improvement
.. OR you could have a pop-up asking "Are you having trouble understanding this feature? Leave us a comment and we'll help right away!".
I think it's safe to assume the second method will give you more valuable insights with a lot less effort.
There are a ton of these kinds of widgets available, but I'd recommend picking some IndieHacker started ones. 😁
https://www.satismeter.com/ is good for NPS score if you have the budget and like NPS
Mike launched a tool called Upvoty and it's pretty damn good!
very nice one indeed...
I used it for a while. It 's designed beautifully and works quite well.
I simply choose Trello in the end because it's what I was already using and used to!

This website is a collection of many such tools, with descriptions and pricing plans.
Nice one
Nice website! Do you manage it?
I don't, just happened to come across it once and bookmarked it for cases like this one :)
Hey I just launched https://producthero.app, give it a try! ProductHero is a beautifully simple in-app Widget to publish product Updates, share the product Roadmap while accepting new feature requests, comments and upvotes, collect Bugs and Chat with your users.
It supports additionally a nice Calendly integration, a module for Newsletter subscription and dark theme.
Maybe is the right tool for you?
I have used it in the past ith quite successfull results. I used https://www.hotjar.com/ but I'm sure there must be other options around.
Right now I'm using drift.com to include a popup chat.
Check out https://howuku.com for free user feedback and session recording.
Whatever you use, make sure to comb through the responses and categorize them into broad categories (product, goals, marketing, onboarding etc.).
When you create a system to regularly collect customer feedback, it'll be much easier to classify the responses and see the areas that have the greatest areas of opportunity to make a change.
Funny, I saw your question right after publishing a blog post about how I used our own tool (https://arrows.to/outreach) to get feedback from 100 of our early users: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/da3abfac98
It doesn't do forms/popups/embedded feedback collection. It's more focused on emailing your customers to actively ask them questions directly vs. passively hoping they fill out a form. Worth trying both routes to see what works for you!
So great to hear you reached out to those early users. And thanks for sharing your experience (just read the article!).
Collecting feedback is so critical because it's directly from your users. No more guessing or wondering. You've got the data right there.
And I really like your approach of reaching out personally to each one of them, not just some mass message.
I didn't see in the article but what was the response rate?
I'd need to go look, I wasn't too focused on the quantitative side of things. Response rate of ~12-15 people out of 100 so far, and I'm still sending the first round of follow-up emails.
One thing that seems to be the case, though, is that a fair number of these are low-quality users. But the ones that have replied are the ones I wanted. There's surely room to improve the process to focus even more heavily on just those folks (maybe using Clearbit or something to learn a bit more about them before emailing).
Are you planning on asking them for a 15 minute interview? (for those users who you really wanted to reply)
You'd be surprised how much more info you can get in that 15 min interview if you structure your questions right ahead of time.
Even if you only get 2 or 3 people agreeing, you'll discover so much more that will help you leap ahead. 👍👍
Absolutely! That's what I'm working towards. Trying to do a lot of hand-holding with onboarding setup and all of that. But you're totally right, Anita!
Awesome! Having those interviews might even cut down the amount of handholding you have to do during onboarding. Cause they can tell you what they're thinking as they go through the process.
Of course, always ask what their goal is with the product (what problem are they trying to solve). As you collect this info, put it back into your marketing and start attracting others just like them. 👍
Yep!
Rightmessage.com is a multipurpose feedback / pop up form that has a great UI and UX.
Disclaimer: not affiliated, have seen it being used on egghead.io
I started using them over a year ago. They've come a long way. Great product.
