Looking for a salesperson partner for Video Translation Agency

Hey Indie Hackers đź‘‹

I'm currently running an AI-powered video translation and dubbing agency. We help YouTubers, podcasters, and content-driven companies reach new audiences by translating their videos into other languages — fast, cost-effectively, and with natural-sounding voiceovers.

The backend and delivery side is solid (automated workflows, AI + human QA). Now I’m looking for someone to help bring in more clients.

💸 Here’s what I’m offering:

50% recurring commission for every client you bring in.

100% remote, async-friendly — work whenever you want.

🎯 Ideal person:

Experience in B2B or service-based sales (agencies, SaaS, creators, etc.)

Comfortable talking to content creators or marketing leads

Likes working on performance-based gigs with a clear upside

Bonus: you’ve closed deals before for creative or tech services

f you're interested or just curious, comment here — I’m happy to share details.

Hi Javi! Have you been running the outreach yourself and now want to scale, or are you looking for someone to run it for the first time?

From my experience, founder-led sales is often the best way to start. As the founder, you know the offering & value prop best, and those early outreach convos give insights you wouldn’t get if it were outsourced.

That said, I recently helped another startup doing outreach to YouTubers, and we built a neat feature for it:

    • YouTube Search > find relevant channels by topic + subscriber filters
    • Grab emails
    • Run a simple email sequence with follow-ups

So it’s like what @sinkol mentioned (lead gen → outreach → follow-ups), but lighter weight and purpose-built for this exact workflow.

One thing I’d add: it’s usually best not to start with “scaling” or “automation.” Doing the first few manually helps you nail the right message and ICP before burning through leads at scale.

Happy to share more if this is still relevant :)

Hey @sendegg, that's a brilliant addition to the conversation, and thanks for the mention.

You've hit on a critical point that I probably should have emphasized more: the manual-first phase is non-negotiable. Your advice to "nail the right message and ICP before burning through leads at scale" is 100% correct and the mark of an experienced operator.

The way I think about it, the initial manual outreach phase is the 'R&D and Training' for your future automated agent.

You, the founder, are the first version of the agent. You run the process by hand, learn the patterns, find the winning email copy, and document the exact decision logic. Once you've created a successful, repeatable 'playbook' through that manual effort, then you can hand that exact playbook over to an automated system to execute flawlessly at scale.

The purpose-built feature you described for YouTuber outreach sounds like a perfect example of this – a lightweight, focused agent designed to execute a proven process. That's exactly the right way to build.

It's the perfect synthesis: human-led intelligence to design the system, and automation to scale it. Really appreciate you adding that crucial nuance to the discussion!

    Hey Javi,

That's a sharp business model. Leveraging AI for the heavy lifting on translation and keeping a human in the loop for quality control is definitely the right way to build a tech-enabled agency.

The hunt for a great salesperson is always a tough one for technical founders. But it might be useful to reframe the problem slightly. Instead of looking for a single 'sales partner' to handle everything from A-Z, think about building a scalable sales system first.

What if you broke the salesperson's role down into a series of automatable tasks, each handled by its own digital agent?

    For example:

    1. A 'Lead Generation Agent': An automated system that constantly scrapes sources like YouTube or podcast directories to find creators in your niche who fit your ideal customer profile (e.g., have over 50k subs, but don't have multilingual content yet). This agent's only job is to build a constant stream of qualified leads and put them in a spreadsheet or CRM.

    2. An 'Outreach Agent': Another agent takes that list and automatically sends personalized cold emails. You can A/B test different subject lines and value propositions at scale without any manual work.

    3. A 'Follow-up Agent': This one is crucial. It automatically follows up with leads who haven't responded after 3 days, 7 days, etc. This is the part of the process where most manual sales efforts fail due to lack of consistency.

By building this automated system, you're creating a machine that brings you qualified, warm conversations. At that point, your job (or the job of a future partner) is no longer about tedious cold outreach; it's about the high-value task of hopping on calls with creators who have already shown interest.

It also makes finding a partner much easier, because you're not asking them to build a sales process from scratch; you're inviting them to come in and manage a lead-generation machine that's already running.

Building the system before you hire the person can be a total game-changer. Good luck with the search!
