Looking for a technical co-founder — payment links that let someone else pay for you

I’m exploring a payment product that solves a simple problem:

What if you want to buy something online, but you want someone else to pay for it?

Today, you usually have to send someone your order details, ask for their card information, have them log into your account, or figure out another workaround.

The idea is to make this a native payment option.

For example, at checkout, a customer could select:

“Ask someone else to pay”

They enter/select a person from their contacts and generate a secure payment link.

The other person receives the link, opens it on their own phone or device, and can pay using their own preferred payment method/account — without ever sharing their card details with the person requesting the payment.

Think of it as:

Buy now → Ask someone to pay → Send secure link → They pay → Order continues normally.

The long-term goal would be to make this something companies can integrate directly into their checkout as another payment option, alongside cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.

There are obviously some interesting technical and regulatory challenges around payment processing, identity, refunds, fraud, authorization, chargebacks, and connecting the payer to the original transaction. I’m not looking to pretend those problems don't exist — I want someone technical who is excited about solving them properly.

Who I’m looking for

I’m looking for a technical co-founder / founding engineer who has experience with things like:

Payment APIs / payment infrastructure
Stripe or similar payment platforms
Fintech
Secure payment flows
APIs and integrations
Web/mobile applications
Fraud prevention and authentication

You don't need to have built exactly this before.

What matters most is being able to look at the concept, challenge the assumptions, and figure out how we could actually build it.

I can take responsibility for the business side, customer discovery, partnerships, positioning, and finding companies willing to test it.

I’m looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the technical side and potentially build this together from the ground up.
