Looking for a technical Co-founder to create an hardware startup

I am looking for a technical co-founder to start developing together my idea for an hardware startup that will help people to save water and get rewarded to do it.
Basically what I want to create is a smart water meter that lets you monitor water usage and that could be easily installed in your home.
Currently the project is only an idea except for the mobile app prototype that I've made with Adobe XD.
I am looking for an experienced engineer who knows how to create a mobile app, a connected device and more important, you desperately want to create something new and revolutionary.

That already exists, there are a lot of remote water metering devices (my local utility company uses them for years now).
Also just check for water meter at aliexpress, it is around 20-40 EUR, probably a bit more for something that needs to handle proper water pressure.
A proper App for personal use will be a good thing, but the "easily installed in your home" part is a bit complicated, not that putting a water meter is a technical challenge or something but there is the potential of doing it wrong and flooding you and your neighbors(if you live in an apartment building) but in a lot of places it is going to be a big pain to integrate into an existing system and replacing the utility meter is a BIG process.

I agree, the tricky part is to integrate the device with existing systems.
You can also call for an hydraulic to install the device just like you do If you want to install a thermostat.

it may be easier to do the low-pressure ones that people can just add after the faucet, or try to get in touch with companies that supply irrigation systems
but all of that depends on your go-to-market strategy, the App is not that complex assuming the hardware uses ESP32 or ESP8266 controllers (assuming you are not too ambitious with the MVP)
Ignore the App side of things, figure out the hardware and potential companies you can partner up with.
Kickstarter campaign can show you if there is any interest in end-customers for your idea (don't hold your breath on this, the B2B have way more potential)
