Looking for a technical partner to build a cool monetizable chrome extension
Hi,
I am looking for a technical partner that can develop a chrome extension.
The idea is to have a chrome extension that will be able to show your calendar on top of any date input.
Example use case:
You are looking to buy a flight and easily can opt for the next day flight, cause cheaper ,but you forgot on that day you have a really important event.
Should be a relatively simple extension with some basic settings :
- choose which calendar to sync
- decide type of visualisation based on importance
- trigger an alert
I can own the product/project management but not actually develop it.

Detecting, interacting, and if required pulling data from the hundreds of different calendar formats might be a headache.
You are right probably won't support all the calendar, but i think by supporting the most used one (i.e: gmail, outlook etc) it can get to good enough coverage.
Agreed. This isn't really an issue if Google and Outlook cover 90% of calendars.
This is a great idea, but just to give you a heads up: A lot of websites use custom date pickers, which may make it a bit harder than you think to properly display/integrate with the calendar.
Just curious, how do you plan on monetizing the extension?

I could probably build this but looks like you have some interest already.
I would expand it to simply scan every page for what looks like a date then display an icon or mouse over with events on the same day. Then it'd work with Meetup, events, conferences , etc.
