Looking for a time-tracking app, preferably from our community.

Hi All,
I'd like to get a better gauge on how much time I spend on various tasks.

Looking for a comfortable time tracker.

Would love to support someone from our community.

Thanks for the tips in advance :)

Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan 👋

I built an app called HoursLogger. It's time tracking and invoicing for consultants and freelancers. It's like Harvest with less features and a simpler workflow.

Free for 30 days. Just message me if you want more time. Happy to help other Indie Hackers. 😊

        Sweet.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any questions, issues or feedback. 😁

    Hi
I just launched automatic website and app tracking tool for Mac (alternative to RescueTime). https://timefibers.com/

      Cool, checking it out!

I made https://www.orbitnow.app to make time tracking fun 😊

      Very cool!
      Checking it out now! :)

If you don't want to be bothered with entering data while you're working you should check https://memory.ai/timely and https://www.manictime.com/

Heya, I've build https://timeturtle.app over the past two years. It's aimed at simplicity and based on an interactive timeline. I'm looking into rebranding it somewhat. Ideas welcome :D

      Looks cool!
      I'll give it a try!

Hey @JonathanOron you could try dozillo.com

It's been designed specifically to help you record time on tasks and projects, or assign budgets to tasks and project to help stop you going over budget.

We have a major new release coming in the next few weeks with new search features and improved UI and UX

      Hi,
      Looks very cool!
I'm checking it out right now.
First comment - I love Google SSO and hate signup forms :)
Will keep you posted on the rest ;-)

If it's for freelancing, and you need more than just time tracking, maybe https://startday.app could be something for you :) It's my all-in-one freelance management tool - it's free to get started and currently all new users get 3 months free premium.

      Hi Tommy,
Very interesting, I will give you app a try :)
      Thanks for the 3 months!

Hi, @JonathanOron, I totally recommend Qbserve. https://qbserve.pxf.io/YzW2J (ref.)

It's a great tool, for your pocket & privacy. I'm using it for about 2 years. There is no mobile app but it's great on MacOS.

      Hi Firat,
Looks very cool but overly complicated for my needs,
I'd actually just like to start and stop timing and then see a report.
      Cheers,
      Jonathan

Yes, @JonathanOron, it's not that kind of app, and to be honest I do not like them because I forgot to click start&stop. :)

      Thanks Rosie!
I know of that app, but I was thinking maybe I should help out someone who's not making ~$1M ARR :)

Man, you could give a look at https://www.theannoyingtracker.app/ . It's an app i've build. Currently works on windows. It's completely free, and it's a method i've been using to passively track my time (instead of having to start/stop a timer in between tasks).

Would love to see somebody from the community using it to give me some feedback on it.
I do have a longterm plan to monetize this by providing advanced analytics from the data collected from the app, but the app itself will stay free forever.

    Cheers!

This is very cool, I'm on MAC :(
Are you planning something web-based soon?

      1. 1

Well the whole thing was build on web tech using electron, so in principle it wouldn't be too hard to pull that off. If i get some time during easter to work on it, i'll let you know!

        1. 1

          Very cool!
I actually built something in Electron and worked on mac/linux/win out of the box.
Only the custom code that I wrote that wasn't browser was a bit of a pain!
I wrote a DSP component in c++ which I complied to WASM for web and needed to create a nodeGYP component for Electron.

@JonathanOron, check out Cartwheel.io. it's fairly lightweight, with built in invoicing automation, and uses a PWA to look great on mobile

      Very cool!
      Checking it out right now!

Pretty much interested in this topic right now. I just started to use HoursTracker for iOS (recommendation found in a conversation with David Allen on quantifying productivity), because I also want to have an idea on how much time projects take to complete.

I’ll be happy to test a tool from the community.

      I'm on android :(
      Thanks!

Heyo — I actually made an activity timer a while back to learn SwiftUI: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/session-activity-timer/id1493474157

Hopefully you have an iPhone? 🤞

Sorry, I'm an android dude :)

      Thanks, Michael,
I'm actually looking for the opposite :)
I'd like to get lost and do things without focus, and then see how much time I "wasted" in retrospect.
      Cheers,
      Jonathan

Simple and great! I was lost in complicated ones. Thanks for sharing.

      Hey Patrick!
I find myself getting lost down rabbit holes :)
I'm not trying to plan out my day, but see in retrospect how I spent it.
I don't mind updating the software when I started and finished doing some task but it has to be very low touch.
I would like very comfortable reporting on the time spent.
Could be an export that I can put in other software for that matter (Google Sheets or something)
      Thanks!
      Jonathan
