Hey I'm a product designer, I've been working on a mockup in my spare time and its finally gotten to good place. I'm looking for a web developer, ideally based in Toronto, to help build out an MVP and take on a cofounder role.
The product is called Watchdit, it is pretty much Reddit but solely focused and optimized for video content. Users submit video from other platforms (Youtube, Twitch, Vimeo, etc...) to interest specific channels (gaming, music, anime, funny, history, etc...) and the community upvotes the best content just like indie hackers.
What problem is this solving?
Not having to scour youtube to find a specific type of content and then having to watch 10+ videos to find something that is actually worthwhile.
Reddit is open source. Why dont you take that code and tweak it?
Hey Joel,
Sounds like a very neat idea. How would you differentiate it from YouTube platlists?
For the MVP, in order to save money and time it's probably best to use a reddit clone either in wordpress or bubble.is. There will be some shortcomings but you ll save alot of time and money by not building the mvp from scratch and rather using an existing option off the shelf. You can test the market and make changes sooner than later.
Hope this helps :)
Agreed with above! Try building out the MVP using no code. Bubble.io would be your best bet.
