Looking for an advice, work on myself or work for myself?
Hey Folks, I work as a ML Engineer, I have around a year and half of experience + 2 Masters degrees, I am still 24 yo.
I work full time at an EdTech Company, and I am curious what to do in my free time.
Should I work on myself, learn more get more experience and join FAANG, get good in data science, and then after 4-5 years, start working on a startup
OR
Work on my own project now even tho I am not gonna learn much technically.
I hope that my question is clear, would love to hear your story as well and thank you.
ML is hot and moving fast. Waiting 5 years seems long. 24 is a good age to take some risks before other committments kick in. There's more to learn than just technical. I would keep the job, use ML to solve some interesting problems for people in spare time. Doing that for a year could be hyper successful and at worst will provide material for a FAANG application.
