looking for co-founder to build a startup-generator platform

I'm starting a new project and I'm looking for technical co-founders. I'm also a tech founder.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT πŸ€” ❓:

  • a startup-generator platform for technical founders who would like to meet people like themselves in order to build startups.

🚧MORE ABOUT PROJECT:

  • The community chooses a batch of ideas to be worked on in the next cycle (cycles will take 1-2 weeks which should be enough time for MVP) and then random teams are generated based on a developer's rating so that all team members are on the approximately same level of expertise.

  • Every community member will get some portion of equity in each successful project based on his/her rating. The founding team will split the most of equity between itself.

⏰⏰⏰ TIME COMMITMENT (in the beginning, as it's a side project):

  • ~25h/week, mostly during the weekends

If you have any questions and want to hear more about the idea please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to hear from you.

UPDATE: After thinking through the idea and after I've talked with a one seasoned entrepreneur I'm thinking to pivot. So, as it would probably be a lot harder to come up with meaningful startup ideas than to build a MVP, I'm thinking to pivot this startup-generator idea into something more as a mix of "stackoverflow for startup ideas" and "startup-generator".

    🚧🚧🚧 THE PIVOT:

    • a person posts an idea and asks for people to tear it apart and give suggestions why that couldn't work and what could be a better approach
    • every comment can be down voted or up voted
    • with every vote, a comment creator profile is updated with some points (increased/decreased)
    • if a post hits some amount of total vote points, then the idea suggestion would be marked as resolved.
    • if a total number of voting points is a positive number -> idea is marked as approved, otherwise it is marked as a bad idea
    • then, only if the idea is approved, the founding team is assembled to work on it.

    πŸ”ŠπŸ”ŠπŸ”Š TLDR;

So the main difference is that, we don't rush into building a MVP. Most of the time, we are just tearing apart bad ideas, until we come across a good one. Only when we've agreed that we have a valuable idea, then we start building a MVP.

❓❓❓ What do you think, does this pivot make any sense to you?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts on it.

Let me add some more details about the idea. πŸš§πŸ”Š

    • We would have teams of three.
    • At the end of the week community is voting if that project has enough potential to be kept alive for another week.
    • Team members would split 50% between themselves, and the other 50% would have been divided among the community members based on their ratings and amount of engagement in all projects. So, you essentially exchange 50% (of 33% of the total) of your share in your project for shares in all other projects.
    • You would have a structured platform strictly for this purpose. So you don't need to search for those groups on more general sites. You get overview of all ongoing projects and of your involvement in some of those. Platform would offer a bunch of mechanisms to keep the community focused and engaged (rating system, voting and proposing systems, some tools to help with the building etc.).

I think this idea is great! It's really important to kill off bad ideas, merge ideas together, cooperate rather then compete and get the opinion of enough people to validate ideas.
As a general rule VCs only invest in 1 in every 10 000 ideas put in front of them (or this is what they tell us). Despite this, VCs on average are not very successful as the failure rate at this level is still so high.
Having said that, the vast majority of business ideas are terrible and the execution and timing cause most of the of the rest of them to fail. In order to make successful ventures we either have to get enough volume in or have higher quality inputs to begin with.

Thanks. I agree with your opinion. After the pivot, I'm even more satisfied how it sounds. If you're interested to jump on the board, we can get in touch. πŸ––

I am interested, I am pretty busy with other projects though.

Hey Dreamfier. Sorry for a delayed response. That's great. I suggest we make a video call to know each other and to see what would be the best way to work on this. If it sounds good to you, just hit me up with an email. πŸ––

PS I'm also involved in some other projects, so we don't need to put much time into this immediately
